| I work at least two different jobs, one full time, one part-time. I fear the part-time one is under threat. My partners job should be secure as it is in an essential area. My children, of whom there are three, and their partners, altogether six people, are all anxious. This makes 7 out of 9 that do not have the sense of security they were used to under the Labour Government. |

No, but I can understand people who are, I hope we do not have the job losses of the early nineties.
I hope this govt cares enough to help business and stop people losing their jobs. |

I still believe this is just the hype of the media trying to scare people.
The company I work for is hiring people, there's no sign of recession and we have been having a great time.C'mon people. This is New Zealand not America.
Leave the bad news, unemployment, depression, sadness, etc. for the Yankees.
The grass on this side of the world is definitely greener. |

| Things are tough out there already, redundancies every day now, no job is safe, the papers and media are making things worse. My husband got made redundant and things are tough for us financially I worry every day how I am going to manage to pay bills, food, mortgage expenses on just my wage. My husband is a qualified Fitter/Turner but it makes no difference out there now, there are not many companies hiring new staff, this is a real worry for all New Zealanders, I only hope things will improve for all of us. |

| I'm a student and so far I've experienced that jobs are still where you look. It's a case of being picky which leaves the jobless out of work. Regarding job loss, the fear should be real, New Zealand or U.S.A. It seems that services will be hardest hit followed by technicians, as professional industries have taken a must-have place in society |

| Your security under the Labour government was false and in a different financial era. Todays world is today and the challenges are new. Try going to university for six years when you have a child and no bursary. Today is just a breeze if you are prepared to go without. |

| No , Just started new job , which I found on the Internet and I was the only application!!!! Earn around $35000 a year and work only five days a week. So come on people times are tough , but there are jobs (not careers) out there. |

| I still believe the media are playing a huge part in this recession. They are constantly bombarding people with negative comments. There is a feeling of uncertainty out there about jobs, not all are in the firing line but many are. Our company laid off around 14 staff and there could be more at a later date. No job is safe! |

Hi,
Just thought I'd ask if your company could help my 59 this year husband to find work. He was told not to return after xmas and because he hadn't been there long there wasn't any pay out. It's hard at this age and as a truck driver with 1 eye it's even harder. Our mortgage is on a hardship deal till April then we are on the street. Bless u for listening. |
