Not sure what you mean? How many hats do you have? Why would you even want a hat?

Higher taxes equaling lower interest rates is Orwellian 1984 stuff.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
Oh okay, well I'm off to put some money into my kiwisaver account now which the govt will match. Then I'm going to pray to god to deliver Helen Clark from the temptation of giving with one hand and taking with the other. Hopefully my prayer will be heard and tommorrow the money will still be there.

Oh I forgot research has shown god is also on drugs, henceforth why the world is like what it is. Oh well there goes my money I hope whoever gets it will enjoy it as much as I was hoping to enjoy it.

If God is a drug, then I'm stoned, (Probably will be if any fundamentalists look at these boards).
Thanks for the donation, Dan. It's gonna come in real handy when I move in with the slobs next door. Screw working for a living.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
You guys need to think about this somemore, the govt is going to give you a 1000 kickstart and then upto a 1000 a year as a tax credit, thats money you won't get if you don't join up. Instead of thinking you know about it ask people how can give you the facts them make a educated decision, you just might change your mind. NZers are hopeless savers as a rule, the older generations weren't but we are now.
I'm just saying seek the right advice, don't make a decision just based on what you have heard solely from the media.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
rello, what makes you think I rely on media for info?
Simple maths tells me,
10% on 200,000 (mortgage) = 20,000 in interest per year
10% on 2,000 (kiwisaver start) = 200 in interest per year
I think I might try to clear my debt first.
The right dishonest Dr. Michael Cullen tells us we spend to much and we don't save enough, yet he creams us with tax, spends like crazy and drives up inflation, causing interest rates to rise AND he tells us we're poor savers!
Please go and educate somone else 'cos I get all the B/S I can stand from politicians!

Dan, sounds like you have worse slobs than us. Our slobs party all night, but they do sleep all day. We must have middle class slobs here, I guess.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
Not really when you consider that over 470,000 and counting. That's nearly 1000 people per admin person. On top of that because it is a new scheme, more people than would be the normal are signing up at present. The ratio may decrease once once the scheme settles in a year or two.

dhume is Labours' propaganda minister. FTA with China is good comrade, da? Foreign Takeover Attempt.
Maybe FTA should stand for Free Tibet Alliance. Now there's a cause worth honouring.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
I am no dedicated Labour suppoerter at all noozilander.

I am unsure of who I will vote for. I am also not naive that National will come in and solve all NZ's problems instantly. This site seems full of people who want to see the back of Labour at all costs when wwe don't know what the alternative is. Quite frankly Key seems big on style but small on substance!

I simply believe that saving is an important part of the NZ economy as it is in Aus and Canada. Compulsory super is one reason why the Aus economy is in better shape than NZ. Less taxpayer $ need to be spent on the elderly. It is the way forward and means we don't have all our eggs in the housing basket.

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
"less Taxpayer dollars need to be spent on the elderly'...bloody moron, bloody hero. These "elderly' built this country, they gave morons a free education while they could, they fought and died for it, or went without,.... raising kids because their menfolk had gone forward as fodder for Britain's enemies guns....'Less spent on the elderly'...who for generations paid into a fund once known as "Social Security' only to have it splurged on MP's cheap housing loans and loans for their farms and orchards... and the drivel from their loins...I sometimes wonder how old you might be....and then I remember I have better things to do with my time.

I do though, get tired of reading the rubbish put forward by Government jockstraps..complain about this one if you want it removed

Re:Kiwisaver Reply to this message
No Problem Solutionz. I have no problem with the elderly being taken care of - espescially those who are old enough to have gone to war. KiwiSaver isn't going to help them anyway and therefore they are exempted from my prior posting. At no stage did I suggest cutting pensions. KiwiSaver isn't for those that are old now, it is meant for those who retire in 15 years+. I am 28 so I have over twice that time. The retirement age will probably be 75 by the time I get there anyway. Ha!

I would certainly like not to rely on the govt when I am retired.
