People are plentiful the worlds over populated and the New Zealand government keeps on finding some interesting sorts to replace the gaps left by born and breed New Zealanders, our families, the smart ones who want to be paid what they are worth.
Three of my qualified adult children and also two of my grand children are leaving for Australia after Christmas, this qualified Dad will be selling up house, land and two businesses as soon as I can to be with my children on the Gold Coast
It would be interesting to see the data on how many of the new comers populating NZ in the last 9 years are actually in work and contributing to New Zealand, instead of stressing the countries resources.
The government would not want us to see the real results of its immigration policy,we are suffering from the results of it now.
The wheels of NZ are slowing slowing down and will continue to do so,as the present trends stay in place.
New Zealand lets be real,we are no longer a winning team or for that mind even a team,we have been divided by the results of failed policies and our people leave like a ships smart crew would do before the ship sinks.
Four million plus people would be easy for the government to find, but at what social cost? more drugs, crime, suitcase murders, kidnappings, benefit fraud, overstayers, cultural and racial indifferences.
New Zealand
Or do we say just hold on a minute there, all you decision makers, maybe we should just start getting rid of the mistakes that have entered first and try get our New Zealand family back that have left.
We all know of good people that have left, only to be replaced by some now very less dynamic and more challenged members of New Zealand society.
God defend New Zealand,Yeah Right, its going to need God even more than it does now,if positive changes are not made to hold our people here.
Maybe those reports of our New Zealand God living in Australia are true,New Zealand needs 8 million people as much as we need a hole in the head. |

| Recently a scientist said that we should not eat so much meat. The plannet cannot sustain meat prduction at the present increasing rate. The answer is simple. Stop breeding people who consume meat. The plannet does not need so many humans. |

New Zealand is way over populated already. we see day after day the pressure on resources. Just look at the recreational fishing debate where the right of every nz'der is being eroded by dilution, same resource more people, the whole nz way of life being the outdoors hunter gatherer is being destroyed.
Stand up now and be counted, there are more of us than you may realise..... |

| Lee, as someone who is running away you identify yourself as one of your "less dynamic and more challenged members of New Zealand society". I spend a lot of time in other countries working and lving for weeks or months but we always return to NZ. NZ is quite simply the best place to live and doubling the population I think will damage that. I agree things are heading down the wrong track but there isnt any other ship to get on. I think the irony is that you are leaving for the gold coast, which having been there I know isnt a better place to live and is subject to more immigration and racial tensions than here. |

won't happen, NZ lacks the guts to do what it really takes to go forward and that's why our people are leaving in droves for country's like Australia and abroad where the future is greeted with greater optimism and forward thinking policies that embrace growth and greater prosperity.
When week after week and all we can focus on is Winston Peters, and not issues that truly matter it is no wonder many are leaving and our population is going backwards like our economic disposition.
What is needed is more than what we could possibly discuss here in a life time!! starting with a set of balls and some pollies with actual talent would be a good starting point. |

'Take the dam dole bludgers with you mate'
We've actually got less dole bludgers now than we've had for a long time, Less on the dole slightly more on sickness but overall the combined total is way down.
Actually with the population aging we need more YOUNG people to be able to pay taxes to support the supper for the elderly.
If we had compulsory super saving like what Labour brought in back in 1974, We would be all on the pigs back. But thanks to muldoon we don't have it. Kiwisaver is a start. |

| We need synergy, where people sense the energy flow, it motivates people & they become more productive. We need a think tank where our people return from their OE and fill out a survey of what they have seen, heard, talked about overseas. This knowledge could help jumpstart businesses and it would be good for the country. A think tank could help with this, right now it is too scattershot. It goes without saying these people should be rewarded in some way. They are our ambassadors at large. They also could help giving information on would be immigrants who we might want. The Immigration Department needs to smarten up, be more responsive in a timely manner to encourage immigrants. |

I used to think these threads were good lol , after reading I see its one sided.
Perhaps in the year 2050 when the population of the world is expected to be 26 billion you lot can speculate who you wish to dispose of first, in hindsight you will be extremely old if your here at all lol.
We already have free trade under the P4 with the USA.
China has free trade with us also although we will find flaws in their workmanship.....you have to remember China is filled with people who struggle daily to survive.
NZ will take some time to grow to 8 million but if that's what you want, you better be prepared to lose some of the beauty and wonderment of this small country...we are not *** an.
I suggest stop your complaining about New Zealand and get on with living |

Got to agree with you ngatuwairangi
If NZ grew to a population of 8 million where would they all live? Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch.
Auckland is already getting too big and unwieldy as a city and with luck that whole piece will be fenced off at the Bombays and left much like Escape from LA and Escape from New York. |

NZ will get to 10 million one day... should we increase the population sooner... is tthere any real need to..??
We have imported 50,000 South Africans recently (mostly white of course) and given citizenship to 2000 white Rhodesians ( of the superior kind i.e. practitioners of aparthied who fled those countries when the blacks gained 'majority rule'...)... that is the sort of thing that has to continue in order to maintain the white majority here... we nearly lost it a few years back when we imported all of those asians...which is why we had to quickly follow up with the south africans and rhodesians... plus the 99 white british police recruits...( and the token black one that tagged along)...
So now our bureaucrats are fervently trying to ensure the white majority survives here through a robust european / american immigration drive...
Because... if we dont do that... MAORI will be the majority culture/race here by 2020...and I wouldnt know how I would feel about having to endure a 'Pakeha Land Act of 2020'....or have to be guided by a 'Ministry of Pakeha Developement'...' or have my assets administered by the 'Pakeha Trustee'... those sorts of things would make me feel marginalised by the majority... like as in some sort of punishment... It might drive me to submit a treaty claim...
and at such time, after Maori have passed laws to transfer all of pakeha lands to Maori... along with the foreshore and seabed and all oil and mineral rights,... I, along with my fellow immigrants have become entrenched in the lower socio economic bracket...... I might end up on the dole... having moved to invercargill where there is no jobs but where there is housing to rent which I can afford..
that would not be cool... as in it would not be right.. as in it would not be 'white'...
So maintaining the white majority is the underlying agenda of immigration policy... let us not loose sight of that... so yes... if we need to... we should... |

Yes, New Zealand is marketed very well. I daresay, that "clean and green" New Zealand is the biggest marketing scam ever. I fell for it and came as skilled migrant and invested too much money into this. I am honestly disappointed. How can a country with only 4 million people run down their environment as much as NZ. Land clearing everywhere, hardly any trees, no environmental conciousness whatsoever, and extremely polluted air in the not that big cities. No wonder, that New Zealand cities like Wellington have asthma rates in adults of about 17% which is extremely high, especially for such comparatively small cities. If the population would be any higher the natural beauty of the country would already have been ruined completely. To top it most Kiwis are clueless about what is bad for the environment and their own health. And another ridiculous thing: if there it is any problem with native forests or animals it is never the humans who are to blame no its the bad and ferocious non native creatures like the possum who are to blame for everything. How very mature and convenient. Get a grip on reality Kiwis!
Before NZ grows any further it needs to radically change its attitude. |

Which country did you come from dear. Oops! Time to get out in the sunshine with a lovely cup of latte I reckon. The sun does shine here in 'the land of the long white cloud'. Just off hand...no country in the world is without environmental problems. But I would venture to say that I'm so grateful, really, to be living here. For some , enough is never enough no matter how much they get and have. My family and I work hard to enjoy living a very happy, content, comfortable lifestyle and involve ourselves in the local community as much as we can. It's fun. Are you helping to make a difference? There is so much good we can do rather than play that scratchy flat old violin. Why should we just leave it to others? We can all help make our corner of the world a little better. As far as I am concerned New Zealand to me is the greatest country for family, opportunity and lifestyle if we just get out and smell the roses...they are there...I smelt that lovely bouquet just recently. You should come for a cheerful chat and a cup of tea with my dear caring wife she's a laugh a minute. May your day begin to shine brighter and bring more joy for you.
