Holy, honkyparty, got some bauls there mate, lol.
I have no problem with Te Reo being taught in schools, primary schools in particular, optional at high schools if kids want to pursue it further. |

Yeah I have been reading the other comments,but just got too carried away I reckon.Sorry!
I work for IHC as a Community Support Worker,have done so for 8years now,and a very small part of our role is to encourage & foster Te Reo within our service toward the Clients we support.
I am so glad that I know enough about my Maori Culture & Te Reo to be able to support those of our Clients who,though they may not be able to convey to Me on a verbal basis,and have a continual korero as would normally be the case,they have obviously been brought up with it prior to coming into the service of IHC.
This is a time when I am Proud of My Maoritanga-helping those who are unable to "Speak up",and,supporting & enabling them to retain their sense of "Identity"
I reckon I got it pretty easy with the above expectations.
Te Reo Maori is alive,and best kept that way amongst the People identifying themselves as having Maori Ethnicity. |
