Well here's to Telecom & they way they treat their customers. Today i found that i had, had a call bar put on my phone as recently I've had hardships and missed a couple of payments over the last 2 months. Not only that people can't call or text me either.
I've been a long time customer & have always been a good payer & eventually paid my bill in full if I have ever gotten behind.
Then I ring their *123 service only to get some shytey person on the other end that proceeds to talk "at" me and not too me as if I am scum.
Why I bother to stay with them I don't know & recently all the people I know have converted to Vodafone & still get to keep their original 027 numbers.
Is Telecom worth it? Seems to me !NO! Should people move on to a company that actually is about the people not the dollar? I think so!!! |

I was with Telecom for about 6-7 yrs got brassed off with them so changed to Vodafone, Well they no better than telecom, In fact they want the bill paid by the 15th month following and by the 30th you are cut off. At least telecom gives you a bit more latitude.Vodafone Broadband is average, In some places worse than others and never any better than anyone else in other places. Not good down here in Canterbury.
And worse than that they're hard to contact 'you call is important to us you are 300th in the queue' |

| v123norrac... it seems after looking thru many threads, I hve seen your name pop up quite a few times, and it has been noticible to me, that you have a serious problem with anniemarumaru@xtra.co.nz are you stalking her by any chance or just like to voice your opinion in a total opposite direction as anniemarumaru@xtra.co.nz. .. hmmmmmm? Anyway.... after being with telecom for the past I don't know century maybe, I have found myself changing my plan also, after long consideration and some good selling by vodafone, I have decided to jump ships and join one that has better offers to customers than that of Telecom, who gives me a meesly 6gb per month for my broadband at a price I thought was reasonable but now find that 20gb at a lower price is like winning lottery, however, if vodafone expect their payment on a certain date then why not pay it on that date, like you so seemingly pointed out to anniemarumaru@xtra.co.nz on her thread called "Auckland City Council - hard up for money?" Hmmmm a bit of condradiction going on there for yourself V123norrac huh! |

I don't disagree with anyone on principle, I disagree because I happen to have a different opinion to theirs.
Are you saying that I don't have right to express my opinion?
No,I do not stalk any one on this message board. And I don't have a problem with Anniemarumanu or anyone else for that matter.
There are others who post more than I do on this message board. |

I don't like Telecom either which is why I changed from them I was saying Vodafone no better, What we need is a decent 3rd party telecom provider that gives better service. |

| I was with telecom for years until i finally got peeved with the lousy service. They've had the monopoly for so long they could do what they liked without consequence, hence our third world communications. They are there to make money for the powers that be, not waste it on us.Performance and reputation say volumes about the way a company operates. I voted with my feet and havn't looked back...:-) |

| cant beleive someone would complain about being barred for not paying their act, what did you think would happen that a company would let you rack up debt that you obviously cant afford. If you dont pay credit cards they dont keep letting you charge things to it! this is common sense. If you cant handle a phone on a plan then go prepaid! |

Try ringing Telstra and wait 40 minutes to be answered, at least Telecom answer you quicker and know what they are doing!
Grass isnt always greener on the other side! |

Telecom is a typical American Run Corporation with no social conscience like most capitalist pigs. When you
require service, they let you wait on the phone for 30
minutes (experienced) or maybe longer. When you want
to apply for greater Telecom plans they are all over
you. In this Country (NZ) we need greater competition
which provides only telecommunication access, but genuine
back up service too.

Yea seriously, if you dont pay your bill you will get cut off, i have been involved in telecommunications for some time now and its quite funny to read others opinions, as far as im aware the only faster broadband than telecom is Telstra Cable, where they have the cables down, apart from that other isps are using the same lines and equipment in the exchanges as telecom does.
as far as customer service goes, the avergae wait time ive experienced with all telecom is around 3 mins, all their reps have always been very helpful.
as have telstras but telstra just always seem understaffed hence the long wait times.
in my opinion because telecom have had the monopoly for so long people just love to hate them, and im my opinion ive just gone back to them becasue they seem to be the only telco in this country trying to look after their customers now |

Gee, they do all the time to me, Did a job for an outfit Dorkland in June due payment 20th July and they still haven't paid me. I gave them good service the next day as asked. Then I'm expected to pay my bills on the due day. Every time I ring them the guy is busy at some meeting promises to ring back, oh yer, |

whats your point v123...
If you havent been paid then take steps to get your money, telecom are just on to it, if they waited until everyone was ready to pay the would be out of business.
People moan cause a business wants their money for the service or goods they supply...work that one out??? |

Mongoose:
Firstly regarding no notification. On your Telecom account it says "Your account is overdue, please pay immediatly or you may be disconnected without notice" (probably not the exact wording but the message is quite clear). If this is not an indication that you need to contact Telecom then I dont know what is.
Second: If you had actually taken the time to call Telecom BEFORE you were disconnected you will find their credit team are actually quite happy to make arrangements for customers who have hit hard times. However you chose not to contact them.
Third: You should be aware that Vodafone's customer service is based in Egypt last I heard and I believe they actually charge customers to call their customer service team (however this may only be for prepaid phones).
Before blaming Telecom for your situation, maybe you should take some personal responsibility for not trying to take any action to prevent your line being disconnected. |
