Re:winston peters Reply to this message
Ok the stage is set with Winston trying like hell to embroil the SFO into the privileges committee enquiry.
Using a letter sent to Ron Mark from someone (not named)as the grounds of complaint is typical Peters. Lay more smoke, confuse the issue, fight everyone and say he is being plotted against.
How much longer will he fight this rear guard action.
It is time for the Rt Hon Winston Peters to either lay down the sword...or fall on it!

How many times has been wrong. Once he gets his teeth in to something he is like a bull dog he won't let go.
I hope that you are not right but as you say it is taking a bit to long and if there was no truth it, it should have been over by now. Never have voted for him never will but I did like the way he always seemed to bounce back no matter what.

Winston who?. Remember that little brainless coconut head (Winston)floating about on a very small raft with Tom Hanks (Castaway). All at sea, lost with no hope or direction. Hope he finally sinks!

If this discussion over Winston is the only issue in New Zealand politics, then as a nation we are not doing to bad.

As for the Act Party and Rodney Hide, they have not table or produced any sound policy, [just dirt, and personal attacks

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
The heck with Peters. If he wasn't a part Maori Clark would have booted the stirrer out years ago. How about a referendum and let the public decide his limited future. Bet that will never happen same as the non-existent referendum for no smoking in pubs. Looks like the govt looks after its own and dictactes to the public. Hypocrites and their "You tell us what you want" policy.

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
I simply cringe at the fact that a politician who very publicly aimed to get all asians out of NZ is our foreign affairs minister. Sir Helen only gave him this position because she desperately needed to be able to rely on his vote in the House - however we muttered then 'how does this make us look internationally?'. And we still mutter it today. To be stripped of his ministerial powers over supposedly breaking a law (electoral finances) he helped vote in is the epitomy of ironic don't you think?

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
NZPA - Even if MPs think Winston Peters lied..... .for him to be sacked as a minister, Michael Cullen says. Yep, this sounds right, they are allowed to lie to the public and keep their jobs and get the big pay packets. Commies rule and we gotta take it and be quiet. Stuff NZ politics.

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
Interesting to hear that Mr Cullen claims "the committee were wrong to censure Mr Peters" News Flask, Mr Cullen, the committee did not censure Mr Peters, Parliament did, after debating the matter and voting democratically. The committee simply reported back its majority finding that Mr Peters had mislead Parliament and they recommended that Mr Peters should be censured by Parliament. That finding did not obligate Parliament to censure him. We still live in a democracy Mr Cullen, even if that does not suit you.

When you respect Helen does that include her party trying to influence the outcome of the privileges committee judicial procces? By pressuring the Maori party and telling them that they want to get him off?

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
Peters is nothing but a source of amusement to those who can be bothered listening to his lies and stirring.I can't think of anything beneficial of significance he has done for NZ people as a whole. Internationally, he must be a political embarrassment with the "Wine box" etc. He only seems to be able to dig up dirt on others to cover up his own "Skeletons in the closet". New Zealand people deserve a pro-active MP and not one that always seems to be in the limelight through SFO or stirring some other politician trying to do what the people voted him in to do. As for his business ethics, I think SFO has proven to NZ he is self-serving and egotistical. Go away and stop wasting taxpayer money peters.

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
I agree Peters is a self serving individual who should have been proscuted for lying and miss appropriation of funds. If he were a EO of a company he would be prosecuted and spend time in jail like all Ceo who cross the line.

The question I have to all Peters fans, is if he was a director in a company that you precribed to and he was taking money from the cookie jar to pay his bills would you seek prosecution.Or would it be the same BS as Im hearing right know.

s graceelizabeth please empty your mind and open your eyes you blindly support winston and the like no matter what two weeks ago you probably supported maori party and now they have showed some integrity you choose to attack them. I have voted previously accross the board including winston but i am not blind. Winston and labour party will be gone. I hope the maori party could be realistic on some policies and govern with national if required.

Re:winston peters Reply to this message
Winstone put his case well ... no flys on him... nothing proven ( as usual)... still smiling... still firing... still walking the talk... too straight for a crooked press to to roll... endured everything TV 1 had to throw at him...

and like Helen.. he came through with flying colors...all reputations intact... as strong and as steadfast eas ever... the sign of true integrity...

pity we couldnt get TV1 and the NZ Herald to pull the same stunt on John Key and his offsiders... they would come out looking quite bent... more so than they do now without having been put under the spotlight... but then it would be a one horse race...

The HELINATOR will steamroll John key without the support KEY has received from the media campaign launched against Labor and Helen Clark...

The only way National has been able to maintain a level footing with Labor is through the unprecedented and massive media campaign to bring National to power...

Given an even playing field... National would be gone for all money...

An unbelieveable and unprecedented blatant free campaign management contribution by TV1 and the New Zealand Herald... pity it couldnt be quantified and calculated into Nationals campaign funding cap... or be counted as an undeclared donation... must be worth millions if not billions...

I wonder if good hard working Kiwis will fall for it...

We will no doubt see how gullible we have become...

and at a time when Kiwi bank is looking so good... and the Kiwi Super Fund is as solid as a rock...

and at a time when John Key's idol .. the USA... doyen of the free market world... is in a total shambles and having to rely on china to bail them out...

....THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO DOUBT HELEN AND MICHAEL...and it certainly is not the time to go borrowing from John Keys mates!!!!!

Every worker and investor in NZ ought to be thanking this government for having insulated this country against what is about to become a USA led financial catastrophe ...
