i hate how the bank charges $30 fee for a dishonoured A.P installment. like if the payment is $10 and they charge ya $30 for not having the amount available..
and its wors if the payment tries to go out the day before payday! I am one of the countries brokest people but i try to be on top of my bills, but when the bank do that and dont reverse the fee for ya.. i know people are just going to tell me to make sure the money is in there but DUH thats an easy solution when ya have enough money at ya disposal |

| Hi Anita, I can't understand how the banks justify some of there fees. A couple of practical ideas that I use is I write down on the calendar next to my computer when all my bills are due including automatic payments, then keep an eye on things using internet banking. Also there is no shame in getting help from a budget advisor, this is a free service. I hope this may help :) |

Simple answer walk in with a note demanding a cash with drawl
preferably with your face covered.
Take the money and walk.Be careful what is written on the note and preferably don't write it yourself. ; ) |

It's the old saying anita the richer get richer and the poorer get poorer.
What about when an AP is due to come out, you have enough funds in there and then wham they take out their fees and dishonour your payment, that has happened to me before, the bloody crooks. |

Westpac don't care either. I used to belong to the BNZ for years until their fees became too much to handle so I switched to Westpac.
A woman working their told me that my account would have no monthly account maintenance fee and all my electronic transactions would cost 40c. She also suggested I stop my paper statements to save money.
The thing is - I only use my eftpos card once a week, never go into a branch or use internet banking, and have only one AP setup - yet the buggers still charge me between $15-$20 dollars a month. |

| Another stupid thing about Westpac is their overdraft facility. Applied for one ($500) and got it no problems. Paid it back in the allotted time, then in a months time, I had to apply for another overdraft when an unexpected bill arrived (this time, only $200) and was declined. When asked why, they said we do not have to tell you, its the banks decision. WTF? |

| INTEREST CHARGERS ARE AS LOW A FORM OF LIFE AS CHILD MOLESTERS and nothing will change on this planet until they are treated with the same contempt. |

| yes violetmnsn I agree with what you say the interest and what we pay on our house mortgage is ridiculous what with the valuations on a landslide we're paying like double to triple what the house is worth now with the valuation dropping its hardly worth owning a home The government should assist by pressuring banks to bring their interest rates in line with the market as it is now. |

| have you looked at Kiwibank? I don't know about their fees but as we have a mortgage with them we do not get charged any transaction fees. When I was with ANZ my monthly fees were in the $20s each month - thats a lot over a year |

| The Gov can't find enough money to fund Health services but can find billions of dollars to bail out banks. |
