Statistics can be manipulated to suit.Front page trumpets 6% unemployment,better than expected good on the goverment.Inside page,bad news for young people as unemployment hits 45% for those aged sixteen- twenty five.

figures quoted are demographics stats
geographically and job type
job drops in manufacturing, retail and construction sectors, while employment in health care, public administration and safety industries had increased.
Fact is
last quarterly report (sept 2009) showed NZ below the OECD average 8.6
With NZ sitting at 6.5
