Ok.I have tried to digest a lot of postings regarding Hone Harawira and have deliberatively stayed out of the debate until now... please read on because now its my turn.
This prize Idiot has to go!.. my wifes family were one of the original settlers of Gore, my twin boys ancestory (of which I will make sure) will proudly point them to thier Pakeha whakapapa.
Who is this goon Harwira?...do only Maori have the right to be the oppressed?, are we that downtrodden that we need to have so called "leaders" that resort to antagonostic statements to justify thier anarchistic aproach to the society we live in?.
Hone here's some questions that I have problems with...why is the infant mortality rate in Maori so out of whack with the rest of NZ's ethnic population?.
Hone.. why is it that the prison statistics in Aotearoa have Maori as thier number one offenders?.
Dude...we need leaders who put forward ideas, hope, or dare I say it answers to the problems that modern Maori face...not idiots that represent a bygone era that blames all its problems on the "white man system".

4. Maori's blaming the White Man's system should stay part of
a bygone era. (why.. because things like that change?)
You wanted to create yet another racist thread (what it is see above) and stayed out of the HH debate just for that purpose?
I've a question for you..
What makes your post different from a private email sent in angry haste to another maori who called him a mofo just as bad a other *** er politicians?
The answer is none. Both of you want to make pubic your antipathy towards the others race.
Harawera has done all NZ'ers a favour.
The Gloves are off.
Meanwhile the four racist points you mentioned remain.
If there was no pakehas abusing and murdering their children, or pakehas locked up etc... your point will still have no relevance. |

One minute Pakeha tell Maori they have watered down blood....when they are child killers or criminals they are totally "Maori"

Perhaps your response should/could have been this-
Due to institutionalised racism statistics in NZ are compiled rather stupidly.
Statistics relating to infant mortality, prison populations, child killers, murders etc dont need to be collated on a race or colour basis. Statistics need to be collated according to resources that have been socially and financially available to the individual in order to have any real analytical value for social planners.
-my argument Alameine-Racism is the fool.
Culturalism is also a fool because in the main negative cultures within cultures can develop as much from deprivation as they can from an over bountiful supply of resources.
Keep it simple I say-Poverty and the stress that comes with it causes the cultural mayhem in a country not race. |

paerina - unfortuately that is the problem "the gloves are off". If we accept that it is ok for our leadership to speak about other members of our community in this way we can no longer tell our young ones to be respectful of other cultures, to respect difference.
Hone does not represent the Maoridom of my Grandmother - she would not have stood for that sort of base behavious and his arrogance does more damage than good - but I blame his mother. |

Mardale, yes it is a problem, every which way.
My view posed here is the problem has been alleviated somewhat with this 'email' exposure. (MY opinon!!)
NZ'ers have always been aware of Harawera's 'roots' and deep seated contentions opposing the Sea bed and Foreshore issue. (People forget or don't care the former TOW Director was the ONLY intended recipient for this email, the fact that HH childishly 'printed' that he didn't care if it was made public (consistent with his hotheaded mindset at the time) still does not change the fact, it was the recipient who made it public. And Yes, rightfully so.
HH is the son of a reknowned Maori Radical.
When I said the Gloves are off.
Many Pakeha have decided to show their true colours. (ie: this very 'typical' thread)
That is why I said HH has done NZ'ers a favour.
Deep rooted feeling on BOTH sides are being aired albeit doors 'busted' wide open on closet racism. |
