Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Much has been made of the requirement to deploy NZLAV by C-130 Hercules aircraft. While we can transport NZLAV in a RNZAF C130, this is a side issue for NZ. Ships will always be the best way to transport heavy and/or large quantities of equipment, support vehicles and NZLAVs. In 1999 when New Zealand Defence Forces deployed to East Timor, four M113s were transported by air to Darwin. 21 M113s and ancillary equipment were transported by ship to Australia, and then all 25 M113s were deployed to East Timor by the Royal Australian Navy’s ships. When Project Protector is achieved, our Navy will be able to transport our NZLAVs in the MRV.

geezar
Transport in C130 was a KEY requirement in the tender.
LAV's failed. We needed this for RAPID deployment. Which is now impossible. Thanks for proving my point about operational ability. The m113's (vietnam war vintage armoured personel carriers) were sent to East Timor because LAV's were operationally inadequate for the terrain. We had to use Australian ships because NZ didn't have any to do the job, still don't.

People who cannot build up their own case as to why we should follow them, ALWAYS try to tear down the opposition to make themselves look good (remind you of Helen ,it should). She has no answers for the mayhemshe and hers created.

Yes, help the elderly. This coalition Labour led govt have increased superannuation, introduced cheaper off peak public transport fares and introduced an policy to improve insulation in dwellings so that our homes are drier and warmer with less likelihood of illness.

Oh, and reduced the cost of visits to the GP doc.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I see Jim Anderton of this 'coalition' Govt taking the credit for rescuing Te Kuiti from being a "ghost town" through his ministry for regional development .... ahem Jim I think it was the rural boom which helped Te Kuiti plus most small towns around NZ. Pointy headed boffins in Wellington had sweet fa to do with it.

Also the ETS which Jim and his cronies have pushed through as if their lives depended on it is likely to destroy the rural NZ economy (learned economists are saying that the effects on agriculture are going to be catastrophic) so I'm guessing that if Helen and Jim and Fitzie and Turiana and god forbid Winston get their claws deeper into NZ then Te Kuiti et al will in fact become 'ghost towns' and agricultural NZ as we know it will become a thing of the past .... not so sure what is going to take up the slack in foreign earnings though. Govt subsidised rail tours perhaps?

Not everything the Labour government has done is bad. However it seems they do not have the majority of support and will have to include the green party to govern. This would be a disaster for our country. VOTE NATIONAL!! :)

farrell-kelly@xtra.co.nz

Let me correct your post.
Not saying the policies are neccesarily good or bad. Just exactly what they are.
I think you should remember that in this world, nothing is free, its just a question of who pays.

Here is how it should be.

"Yes, help the elderly. This coalition Labour led govt have CREATED A SUPERANUATION FUND FROM MONEY TAKEN FROM OUR TAXES, introduced TAX PAYER SUBSIDISED off peak public transport fares and introduced an policy to improve insulation in dwellings so that our homes are drier and warmer with less likelihood of illness.

Oh, and reduced the cost of visits to the GP doc BY HAVING THE TAX PAYER PAY A PORTION.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Bronk surly you jest....show me evidence of where LAV failed....I think you are confused with american stryker..
We needed this for RAPID deployment....i dont think so we could only fly 5 at a time...if we deployed rapidly we would move no less than a company group LAV would not go.

M113 went to timor because that was between 1999 ans 2002 we did not have LAV then and if we did it would of still be going through the transition phase. where the troops were mostly deployed anything bigger than a 4x4 Holden rodeo had problems, even the M113's were grounded in some areas due to the terrain and weather. besides all of this the the australians operated AUSLAV successfully over there where they were working.
you still dont get the point that all these departments are run by directive control all politians rely on information they are given just like you are relying on the media for your information..try getting it first hand for once dont be like john key...get your hands dirty on the coal face

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Just so you guys know:)

Well I have documentary proof in my hand.

As of 17 October Fitzsimons Jeanette of P.O. Box 766 Thames owns 50,000 shares in Windflow Technology Limited.

Who claimed that she sold them then?

But what is worse, Jeanette who is the "government spokes person on energy efficiency" and is of course also an MP is most certainly is in a position to influence the government.

On Jun 30 Mighty River Power a STATE OWNED COMPANY invested in Windflow to the tune of 2,382,496 shares at $3.00.
By my calculation, on that day, Jeanette's investment went from $135,000 to $207,500!

According to Business South, this happened shortly after Helen Clark "noting" at the opening of a new factory in Christchurch, that "It might be time for a state owned enterprise to support Windflow"

However at the moment the shares have dropped to $147,500.

But thats not all!

The Companies Register shows that Jeanette Fitzsimons of Kauaeranga Valley Road, Thames. (Wow I used to go swimming near there) owns a 14.5% share holding in a company called Aeolian Property Company Ltd.
It appears that this company was setup to purchase a property at Te Apiti, Palmerston North.
Funnily enough this is the proposed site for the Te Rere Hau wind farm of which Windflow through a material shareholding of NZ Windfarms stands to gain.

Wow not bad piece of capitalism for a Green Leader eh what?

Well this might not be insider trading in the true sense (although it looks close to infringing section 149 of the Securities Amendment Act 1988 to me) it is evidence of a Government MP abusing her power.
This would be bad enough if it were Helen Clark, but we are getting used to that with her, but this is goody two shoes Jeanette Fitzsimons who dosn't even believe in capitalism right?

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
But that can't be true xtra45 because Jeanette posted this...

28 November 2007 13:08
jeanette fitzsimons said...
"If you expect anyone to take you seriously you should check ytour facts before blogging. I sold all my shares in Windflow Technology when I took on the position of Government Spokesperson on Energy Efficiency. I have no financial interest in that company and this information is pubicly available, including through my statement of pecuniary interest to Parliament. However this makes no difference to my commitment to renewable energy, which remains as strong as it ever was.

Incidentally, no legislation has been passed favouring wind power that I can think of while I have held this job."

bone.jake.

Good one.;)

And I checked the Statements of Shareholding from current to Oct 15 so its absolute current that she still owns those shares.
Isn't she a great Green MP supporting Green industries?
