Trouble with lefty liberal labour governments is that they take over your whole life and brainwash the kids with their propaganda. I mean you can't even choose what light bulb to buy; Hell Lyn decides for you.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
helloooo

NZ did send Military personnel to Iraq and for that matter Afghanistan. Remember Willy Apiata's VC ex: Afghanistan?

We did not "keep out of it", America asked and Helen sent. To suggest otherwise is to ignore the facts.

Anyway, the screeching banshee is gone, I predict by lunchtime 08 11 08.

God help us if she can patch together a government with all the fringe loonies, you know she would have satan himself as deputy prime minister if it meant she stayed in power.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Brakes on the debate for a moment.

Why do the majority of people on these message boards blame the government for all of their woes, and I don't just mean the current one.

Is there any reason that you whingers can't get off your own backsides and do your bit instead of waiting on the government to bail EVERYONE out of what ever it is they are whinging about.

What exactly are any of your people here doing about keeping the economy ticking over. So bloody what you pay taxes, without them you would have NO education, NO hospitals, NO infrastructures in place, NO police force.
Hence uneducated twits, a lot more people in need of emergency treatment, you couldnt use the roading system we currenly have, and crime would be soaring even higher.
Instead of all the blame bull shyte, get off your own asses and create employment for the so called bludgers,
Look to yourselves to find replacement industries for those that are no longer viable.

For too bloody long NZers have expected their government to create this and change that, and whinge when it doesn't go your way.

This country that used to give a damn about its people, if your neighbour down the road lost his job, we didnt tell him he was a good for nothing bludger, the majority of us would have gone to see them and their family and offered to help in any way we could, now, we turn a blind eye, its not our problem, FFS, move on and get over yourselves, we have turned the people of this country into a bunch of selfserving bigots

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Good grief, just been reading through this board, I want to know how much commissar Clark is paying Jamison John and if she is declaring it for electoral expenses! Dude, move to Russia or China.....you'll love it there, its right up your street! Said it once, I'll say it again, the only people who vote for Labour is a selfish vote for themselves at the expense of our country, you are only going to vote these idiots back in again if you are creaming benefits or in a cushy government job.....paid for by the rest of the country! No tax cuts in 9 years, and creaming of the tax payer to pay for underfloor heating in prisons, a dodgy election pledge card, fancy government BMW's, anti smacking bill, electoral reform bill, more rights to criminals and less to victims, nanny state governance, politically correct claptrap, abolition of the privvy council, teaching 14 year olds in school about "rim jobs" FFS!!!! The list goes on and on and on. If you really want to send this country to the dogs by all means vote these communist bunny hugging IMBECILES back into power for another term. Eventually you will drive all the "actual" tax payers out of here and you can have your own little communist politically correct island all to yourself! I'm just curious to see how long its going to take these labour voting idiots to figure out there doesn't seem to be any revenue coming into the government coffers!

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Dear Holmwood, Its 12noon here in Brazil, very hot time of day & am across the road from the beach where we have our umbrella set up with comfy chairs & a little table to rest my first ice cold beer of the day. The kids are munching on a home made icecream from a chilly bin being carted up & down the beach & life is just peachy!!! If I was a little devil I could have turned up even earlier, say 6am & had a couple of caipirinhas, but being the health conscious individual that I am, I wait till after 12....No we didnt take the umbrella or chairs to the beach, each little section has a person who runs a business. There are at least a couple of hundred people traipsing up & down the beach in the hot sun, working their asses off to get our business. Prawns, bbq cheese, sandwiches, beer, vodka, clothing, da de da de da. Sat on the beach observing the people with my camera for 2wks now. Alcohol is available 24hr 7 days a wk & yet there hasnt been a single fight. I can buy drugs such as weed, crack, cocaine. I dont want to, but I can if I want. In fact there is so much choice it makes my head spin. Its a filthy place when its busy, smells of wee & the people are very uneducated about the environment & just dump their *** everywhere, but thats just one visual aspect of this place. The city has 3,000,000 people, beggars abound & its a feast for the senses, not a pleasant one in some respects. Yesterday whilst nibbling on a large piece of homemade cake I observed a couple of street people lolling about on a filthy mattress. The girl was pregnant & I made a comment about reproducing when you have no means to raise a child, when the girl turned & gave me the biggest grin, the thumbs up sign & a wiggle of her hips. Made me pull my head in quickly. How can people with so little, be so happy & so nice?? My kids have been with me 6mths on this journey, they now know a new language making them polyglots. After 6yrs of extrangement due to work commitments we finally became a family

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
again. Its my greatest achievment so far. The point I am trying to make is that these people dont have a council poking their noses into their means of survival, or a government telling them what to do. Yes this place is corrupt, even bigger pigs at the trough than Helen. But everyone in Brazil knows this & theres no dignity in parading your wealth around when it has been acquired through ill-gotten means. I dont need the govt to educate my kids, I provide the critical thinking skills necessary for them to function in the SYSTEM, & the values. What do schools teach our children? To fail? To follow the herd mentality? To bully? After having spent over $100,000 on my sons private school education I was stunned to discover how little he actually knew. He was a top student, which was even more worrying. The best education he has had recently has been in the last 6mths. He has had to learn tolerance, a new language, to be a brother, yoga, politics, etc, etc. More than 13yrs in school. Because I have had the time to connect with my children in a way that just isnt possible when you are bogged down with making a living. We dont need health systems that treat symptons & not the cause. We all became vegetarians, dropped weight, cleared up skin imperfections & enjoy general good health. I dont need the Govt to tell me how to be healthy. How can they be objective when they tax all the healthy food, and dont the junk?? I cant afford to buy potatoe chips here as they are heavily taxed. I have been greedily eyeing these chips since I arrived. Its a deterrent to buying something when its that expensive dont you think? Maybe NZ has always been this way, where people dont give a toss about each other? Maybe there still is & always will be those special people who love to connect with others & help others because thats how they have been bought up?? My mother was always busy helping everyone else in the neighborhood(to the detriment of our own household), and still is.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I for one have not expected the Govt to change this or that as I would not like them to interfere in my life in any way, shape or form. Most of the people on this thread moan about the govt because they see money taken from their wages, yet dont feel its being used in the right way. The waiting lists are out of control, hospitals are in abundance but staff are not. Police & traffic wardens are focussed on petty issues & ignoring the more important crime prevention approach. We are being told what to do when it just isnt necessary & I object strongly to this control. I know whats best for me & mine. The people know the rules without having govts make them for us. As for David Lange, you have your opinion & I have mine. I will not vote for Helen Clark even though I dont think a change in govt is going to benefit NZ, however I would like to see the ACT party have a bigger showing as they will keep the govt honest. Yes we did have troops in Iraq & they say it was logistics only. The father of my daughter was there, an SAS Staff sargeant. On that matter, what the hell is the NZ govt doing supplying troops at all?? It was an illegal invasian & the American govt are war criminals & should be tried as such. Helen is a nasty piece of work, I was flabbergasted to read her comments about Iraq & the National govt. She is a very petty minded woman, who will stoop to any lengths to remain in power. What example has she been to the upcoming generations? Well, lying, stealing, committing fraud, need I go on. If our leaders are our example, its no wonder we are heading in the direction we are.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
And one more thing Holmwood, was there a point you were trying to make by repeating what i wrote earlier? Did I miss something? I certainly didnt miss that helen & her comrades wasted 17 billion by increasing public servants by 80% did I?? Spin doctors, communications staff, ect, etc. Or maybe the huge workforce created to give back our own money. What is this? Since when should we have to ask for what already belongs to us?? The less control the better, because as you can clearly see its not working. The rebellion is manifesting itself in the violence statistics & the suicides & the disconnection with each other. Get out of my life Labour Govt, I dont need you to tell me how to live!!!!

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I left nz 40K a year, my family were poor, wff made me a beneficiary and bow to the govt. NZ Standard of living has retreated backwards. I will be in Oz 1 yr JAN09, 110K salary, 8% pay increase a year, paid superannuation, kids health and teeth perfect, kids exhausted from after school activities, kids educated to international standards. Life is really good - a dream come true. Police around here dont have ticket quota's so my kids dont have fines, like kids in nz who carry passengers, with massive fines, PD and eventual suicide. I miss the family, fishing and hunting in nz, we are in a better place.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I must say that when a person states that people are IMBECILES, then they themselves must have a serious problem that is a called "A LOAD OF SH_T SYNDROME". At least the Labour Govt looks after all people, not like the National Party whom only look after their "CRONIES" by privatising Govt Department that are working extremely well already. The ACT Party have never been and never will be the POWER PARTY position in Parliament, their leader dances with too many stars. At least we do have a democratic process in New Zealand and we can speak our minds, but we should have respect for one another. By the way, how much money did the "Brethern" spend on behalf of the National Party in the last election? $1M, no lots more rumoured to be over $3M, that places the Labour Pledge card in a peanuts spending situation to what that organisation did, let wait and see what this organisation tries this election. By the way the BMW'S where purchased because of their reliability and price.
