Worse thing is how intrusive govt depts are these days. I was phoning immig for a friend & they wanted to know everything about me, name, age, etc, etc. We are such a small country, & many of these things are very manageable. These public servants have become a greedy beast. The salary & wage earners are Govts biggest grab. Thats why they dont give a toss about small business. Gave up my business to do this trip cause I thought I would have a nervous breakdown. The paperwork took up another 20hrs a week so I was working at least 80hrs, then the kids. I so dont want to come back, not looking forward to it.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Okay JJ I don't know where you were when all currency remittance and receipts had to have a yellow or a green form filled in by a Banker and you basically had to ask the Reserve Bank's permission to buy or sell any NZD. I do know this as I was a banker at the time and one of my very unfortunate workmates who was an international clerk for whatever reason forgot to put through one of the "forms" to buy I think it was AUD500 and she got the sack.

If you want to go back to that I think it says a hell of a lot about you as a person and your views on the world - scary. Mugabe must be on the exact right track in your thinking. I have no idea how old you are but in those days home loans were like hens teeth and new school shoes cost $50 - then - about $300 in todays terms.

Helen Clark has leadership qualities and is a competent communicator. Adolf Hitler had those qualities. And similar to Hitler, Clark fully supports the mass termination of innocent humans. That's why they both are/were not good leaders. In fact that's why they are/were bad leaders.

in a marriage who most likely to get caught cheating??.Yes a man bcause he just cant waits to blab to all his mates n 1 of those mates tells his wife.dat is why this country needs a female leader cause women thinks b4 they speak.Take a look @ the beehive when John Key speaks,he always have someone next to him like a moral support 4 him.So if the national gets in,and somewhere in the line their ruling collapse,is that means John Key will said its all your faults Lockwood Smith you told me tosay so.Helen Clark u got my vote.all the best Labour.

I will vote for LABOUR, after all they never got rid of Apprentice training, she did get rid of the draconian Employment contracts act,It will take another 15 years to get trained people back in the work force and repair the damage that was done under the previous administration.I think we will have a lot more people leave before we can hold our heads high again.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I heard the news today .... oh boy .... 33,000 people left for good, .... taking all their hopes and dreams. Not to mention money, education and qualifications.

Seems they did not wait to see whether another three years of Labour was going to be inflicted on the country.

And JJ - where are the "replacements" coming from? How many of the 33,000 were small business owners or other employers do you think?

when a niche is exposed, its filled. if some employer leaves because he cant make enough profit, someone will take that gap. either an existing business will grab the extra work and therefore need to increase his staff, of some worker will grab the chance at starting his own business. people have been leaving for aussie for as long as i can remember and nothing changes here mate so by all means, go

business interests are in direct opposition to workers interests. i cannot understand why any worker would vote national. unless they are brainwashed or thick.

....Mate...I've tried hard to understand you.. I thought it was your communist training that made you so bloody ignorant of the facts of running a business, but alas, I fear I am wrong...it is simple and plain to me now...you are pig ignorant Mate and not worth even considering....Gezuz! I hope you haven't had any kids. I hope your line dies out, and soon.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Well actually it is hard to run a business. The majority of new businesses go broke in the first two years.
The average business owner works far more than a 40 hour week. As the weight of regulation spilling out of Parliament gets heavier, the task gets steadily harder.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
it cant be that hard. ive known total idiots that could and did. probably not as efficiently as it could have been, but they managed. most of the time its the workers themselves that help the inept boss through.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
The state of paranoia in this country is at an all-time high and I blame it all on Helen Clark and her pathetic coalition govt. The left-wing has always been a miserable whinging lot but this is just out of control. They are the ones out protesting (saving the world in general), they worry about everything apart from themselves and Im getting off on the fact they wont be around in a months time.
Helen Clark reminds me of Hitler in the last days of the Third Reich. Constantly snapping at everyone and losing trust in those around her. She is obviously still in denial about her latest polling and I see she will have a rough time when she realises that she aint in office and she will be without a job.
Someone said she will be working for the U.N... hahahahahaa Your probably right, a worthless lot they are she'll fit in just fine.
So to all the reds and other dole bludging, social parasites I have a message for you... Sit back, try and relax and wait for that irrisistable blue tide.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Very true words my friend. In 1983/84 Labour got in a sort of socialist ticket and then morphed into a right wing capital government. Helen and all her hippy mates were shocked but couldn't do a thing about it. When these frauds got in back in 99 I thought that kiwi's could see them for what they were and the dangers it meant for NZ but unfortunatly Labour had tapped into some real unusual social issues (with the assistance of some very strange bedmates)and lied their way through. Also unfortunatly 33,000 last year have had enough and if (god help us) Labour get in again 66,000 will leave. This year kiwis will boot these imposters out but I'm still scratching my head over the stupidity of people who would vote Labour. Maybe that level suits them. I just hope that the polls being announced are correct.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Like a lot of the working class people that I've spoken to, the reason is they're voting National principally because they're tired of the corruption this present Government is up to their neck in. In short not pro- National but anti having their lives run by a quasi Communist Government . The only people ( and I get around a lot in the course of my work ) who are voting Labour are the politically naive , beneficeries, and traditional Labour voters who are blind to the despotic antics of the Clark - Cullen regime. Oh, and stupid people as well.
