you are going to vote with your wallet instead of your heart and you are rationalising why.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I'm sorry, but a link to a report about how we PERCEIVE our corruption level is worth so much fart gas, as my esteemed colleague Thomas Chong would say.

And with a partial police admistration not pressing charges for political expediency, and the ATTORNEY GENERAL Cullen trying to bully/undermine the SFO in it's investigations of its Axis of Weasel (TM) partner, well sure, move along, nothing to see here..

ohh, and I "rationalise" voting for a government that's not corrupt and passes stupid, partisan legislation.

KTHXBYE.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Heres my little poem for JJ:
I packed us up & left my perch,
jumped a plane to Brazil to begin the search,
For answers to questions that are eluding us here,
A small country of people rank with fear.
The people, they protest-We are not afarid!!
But how do they know? They are Government made,
The Government with their noses, so stuck in our lives,
Oppressing the people, so out come the knives!
Murder, mayhem & unhappiness reigns
The tears of a nation, only some of us sane
Driven mad by things we know arent right,
Our eyes are open, but we have no sight!
We are used to control & everything works,
But within our small country, a darkness lurks.
Our precious children are ending their days,
Cause lifes all about money, and other meaningless ways...

This NZ Govt is very, very corrupt buddy, fool yourself all you like...

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Get rid of Helen!

I left NZ due to the socialist regime that is in place. (That is totally dysfunctional) After years of struggling in a professional vocation with little 'light at the end of the rainbow' I left. I am now 20 years ahead of my pairs in career and remuneration. And I still have a great ‘lifestyle’. I will be able to retire!!! My father will not!!!

NZ government banks on the idea that you have a great lifestyle and therefore you should not get ahead for your labour. Hence the number of professionals leaving. Talk about brain drain. Old term I know but it has not stopped. People are just too stupid to see it. If you have Cancer.. A few years ago people needed to go to OZ just for treatment. (not sure if is still the case)

We all paid our taxes.. Unless you got injured drunk driving or shot in a gang incident you did not get state treatment. I have had legitimate health issues that required immediate attention. I had to borrow money to get the issues sorted or lose my job. The older generation that has supported the country for so many years and still have to pay to visit the doctor.

Is this what YOU want for YOUR future?

There are too many NZers (and others) bludging off the system that YOU pay for.

A government that has taken a surplus of billions for the last (as long as I can remember) with nothing to show.

MP’s approving trips to the state delinquents, and buying sexy underwear on tab.

When will the population wake up?!!!!

It is your future. Of course you have to vote with your gutt. But mine tells me Helen and Mike will screw you for the next few years if you vote them back in.

It is time New Zealand, a country, as a whole I am very proud of woke up and got a bit of spine.

Rant over….

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
You can quote all the reports you like JJ ... if all the "gates" were not enough to convince you then how about this ... money received and declared = donation .... money received and not declared = bribe = corruption.

Offenders not removed from all the glory, trappings and troughs of power ... stinking festering cesspit of corruption.

Not even a poultice is going to fix that particular boil on Helen's bum. Not sacking Winston has declared publicly to the world that she believes herself above law and censure - scary!!!

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
angela thinks this govt is oppressing the people. she must be a business person who wants free reign to exploit, or she has absolutly no idea, and is screaming catch crys and slogans out of ignorance. im voting labour, not because they are my ideal govt, but because they will protect the poorest members of our society better than national. you people dont know how good you have it. speak to some migrants who have come here to live about what they think so you get a comparison instead of blindly repeating what you hear keys and hide say.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
I know very well NZ is low on the world stage of coruption. But it does have very low wages compared to the cost of living. And low returns from your tax dollar. You must have made your fortune and returned. I have no problem with that. But if you are one of the people that have stayed there and worked your way up, you will know how hard it is. Unless the family is pushing you up someones chain.

I don't think this government has any business raping the population for the surpluses that no one sees. I have seen a lot of surplus budgets that I have not seen any benefit from. Where is the cash??

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
its hard anywhere to get ahead. nz isnt the easiest either and im not argueing that. im glad you think corruption here is low. many on this thread seem to think nz is as corrupt as it gets, they just dont know. the surpluses were spent on health and education, super fund (for the growing aged population) labour got in last election on that policy while nationals policy was to spend it on tax cuts. sanity prevailed, but only just.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
Have to jump back in, spending it on tax cuts is not spending it. It is just not taking it. Can you confirm that the cash was wasted in the 'fat' health system. And put into future retirements schemes. Bull *** basically. If you think the government will help you retire in say 15 years you are in a dream land. I think you have to make your own ay from this point forward. A lot like most eastern european, middern eastern, afrian, asian, etc countries. The dream is over, the money has been spent on government excess and wasted but incompetents.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
well if they dont take it, there wont be a health system or an education system or any help at all when you are too old to work. the capitalist is ok, hes built his nest egg from the backs of his workers who hes paid the minimum he has to, to keep them. he will live in luxury. the worker who has spent his miserable wages just to survive, and now is no longer wanted, cast off like a worn out machine, has to rely on a society with a conscience. a society that votes in a govt with policies that look after the vunerable, knowing, that its taxes that will enable the aged to at least live, hopefully with some dignity.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
A National Govt will put a stop to dole bludgers, maori, and other minority groups piggy backing on hard working NZer's. A vote for Labour surely means you hate this country and obviously hate yourselves. These people like to be ruled, they cant think for themselves, otherwise they would see that we are not in fact a democracy but a communist state posing as one. Helen Clark has created this left vs right battle amongst ordinary NZer's which stinks of her leftist fear-mongering ideology. I applaude John Key by coming out and saying he is not exactly an ideological person. Helen wouldnt agree as she needs this left vs right fuel to further corrupt idiots (like jj). I see she was out at the Warriors game on saturday night collecting the votes from the lazy-bones and criminals in the crowd, you know, the ones that vote Labour and keep this country from growing. She has resorted to the gathering her votes from the worst type of people, little does she know they are just as likely to sleep in on election day and not bother voting.

Isn't it iteresting that the capitalists of the world are now being bailed out by governments using tax payers money to stop them destroying their so called free market systems. also interesting that so far it hasn't affected this country maybe just maybe that is because of the present administration has done some things right.

Re:Vote for Helen Clark! Reply to this message
i wonder if they will reverse this after the elections if nats get in or will they will leave it in place and let labour suffer the consequence of putting it there in the first place .

The below is a quote from an mp .in response to me stating to him ,that after living where i do for so long ,i had no idea who was standing for what party in my electorate.

"my inability to advertise my candidacy until very recently because of the corrupt attack on our democracy launched by those who rammed the Electoral Finance Act into law last year has been very damaging. We can not have a free and fair election when the governing party is able to handicap its opponents in such a way."

hmm labour would turn us into a dictatorship Communism style if they could
