| a question, is this government any more corrupt than the previous one with election lies and broken promises, and will the next one whoever it is be any better? that is the nature of power. also look at the top 200 nz companies and see how few people are on the boards and who is controling them and how intertwined they are. these people think they have the natural right to rule and control the rest of us. |

| larry, this economic system cant work without egotism, selfishness and greed. without those qualities it would die. any govt that supports this system will be corrupt to the extent it supports the egotists, the greediest and the most selfish. ie, the richest few that you aforementioned that control this country |

| Vote for Helen? You've got to be joking. You can thank Helen for Carbon Tax,Civil Unions,The Electoral reform bill,The Anti-Smacking bill,More beauracracy, Working for families when they should have just given everyone tax cuts, Driving the hard working, clever people from this country. I could go on but I'd wear my fingers out. If Labour and the Greens get back in, God help us! |

Keep your hair on. I was only kidding about Mugabe; (although they do have that same gleam in their eyes).
Besides Helen all those annoying checks and balances of democracy to hold her back. |

| i just think this country has lost something in the last 28 years, still trying to pinpoint what it is. there has been a big push for 'rights' and 'individual responsibility' but with that has come a 'lack of respect' for others. to my mind you can't have the first two without the last one. we as a country appear to be out of balance. its not all the governments fault, but they are left trying to pick up the pieces. it is most evident in the younger generation. i have worked with them a bit over this time.its a hard one probably take another generation to work through. |

| Comrade Jamison John, I don't often post on here, I have a bit of scan around, and there you go popping up all over the shop pouring out your left wing socialist propaganda with trimmings of "Helen love" thrown in for good measure. Whilst your rantings are highly entertaining and make me chuckle, I would save yourself the RSI, you don't appear to be winning the crowd over with your socialist ranting. I would suggest you read the boards and peoples responses, but you obviously pay no attention. I would have a detailed rant myself and explain whats wrong with Socialism, but you only have to look at other countries such as here and the UK and compare them to countries like Australia to realise that it doesn't need an explanation. If you are going to go off on one about the americans again, don't waste your breath, Socialist ideas have caused the economic collapse, because spending taxpayer money on scroungers, and banks loaning to scroungers and dead-beats, is always a disaster! Keep up the rantings JJ, they are highly entertaining!!! |

| Thanks Mar!! It was what I wrote before leaving NZ. A couple of my sons young friends tragically took thier own lives at what should be their peak. Maybe not relevant, but sometimes the life outside ourselves is at odds with who we are inside & it becomes too difficult to live with such duplicity. Having been here in Brazil for 6mths, compassion & empathy is the answer I get from most people here as to why they are happy. Brazil has the lowest suicide rate in the world & NZ one of the highest. Being true to who we are has got be the best way to achive happiness in my eyes. Have a beautiful week Mar!!! |

| JJ I have been an employer for the last 7yrs & in my industry taken the lowest commission rate out of the 50 or so competitors. I have managed around 500 to 1000 people over this time & spent my own money to help people who have deserved an opportunity to get ahead, when it may not have been possible otherwise. I object to working 6mths of the year for this GOVT who plays with the money as if its their own personal piggy bank. When we think of corruption, we think of it terms of people taking bribes, etc. The corruption that exists is far worse than this because its so blatant & comes in the form of lying, stealing & changing laws to suit oneself. We see it for what it is & feel resentful because we are impotent. I dont need to list the many things this govt has done in its OWN self interest do I? Small business in NZ are treated appallingly & the compliance required is enough to send one to the Nut House. The welfare state is sucking the lifeblood out of NZ, the purpose for which it was intended long gone. Mothers at home with their children, loving them & nurturing them?? Some, who are involved in their lives of their children & feel pain & suffering & isolation. They still do whats best for those children. Then you look at the Kahui twins. 2 precious little lives that really didnt mean much. The callous & primitve behaviour of the mother. What is going wrong with NZ that we have created these monsters that lack empathy? The trickle down effect is one good reason. Everyday we see bad examples set by Helengrad & her comrades & the media play a huge role in this twisting & distorting of the facts. They too are in the hands of the GOVT. The public just want accountability & this clearly has not & will be forhtcoming as long as we are dictated to under Labour!!! |

A vote for Helen as an individual is good.
But not for the Party as a whole!
Too much nonsense over the past none years.
Are we expected to forget the number of enquiries (almost 200) and Minister's being investigated and stood down, sacked, and some reinstated etc etc etc. |

Totally agree with your comments about with your comments about this gov't "plays with the money as if its their own personal piggy bank" and i'm sick to death of it aswell!!
Stay on that soap box, we need more people HERE that will speak out, at least we can speak with our vote and hope that national listen and make some changes... |

lost something - yes, probably our moral fibre. Lets see,
1) prostitution legalised.
2) schools taking over the role of teaching our children about sex (and doing a very bad job at it)
3) an unacceptable level of violence and sexual content, now considered acceptable viewing.
4) anti smacking bill and an erosion in the powers of good 'parents' to do their job.
5) lowering the drinking age...
......many other social 'cancers'.
Well, I think it starts at the top and works down. Look at the state of our Government - they are meant to be our leaders - I have not (personally) seen alot of honesty or integrity there, have you?
We need to start standing up for moral issues, get back to good family values once more, value our children more than that flash car or flat screen tv. Learn once more to 'sacrifice' for the benefit of others - perhaps a recession is just what is needed. |

| As someone who has been following this thread and contributing I have to say that JJ is the most likely to make low personal attacks on other posters who disagree with their view, has contempt for anybody who states that they have had enough of this Government and anyone who dares to suggest that they are a) an employer - who lets face it are the scourge of decent society (depsite the fact that they actually generate the incomes and keep society ticking over .. hmm!) in JJ's views, b) self employed, c) have difficulty with how their taxes are being spent and d) seem to me anyhow genuine decent people who want to see a change. Now I ask you what does that say about JJ as a person and frankly those that join in with their childish taunts name calling and petty point scoring are no better. Actually JJ I think you have an uncanny resemblence to your mate Helen when she is in full cry and I've got to tell you .. it ain't attractive in the least. |

| You go Kev!! Right on mate. They are all of the same ilk as Helen. All resorting to personal attacks on people rather than the issues themselves. Have a wonderful week everyone in NZ, I will be back in the 1st world in 3 wks!! Hey & for your info JJ, those death squads in Rio are part of a very corrupt system which is slowly improving. If the 1st world countries hadnt been screwing with the economy of 3rd & developing worlds then maybe things would have developed faster. Brazil is the worlds 7th biggest economy. They have oil, alcool(sugar cane fuel) & are resource rich as almost everythings made here. They stopped sending produce & veges overseas when there was a shortage to ensure the people were fed first & the prices didnt climb. This is unlike NZ who is flooded with chinese made *** , massive petrol prices, food prices, etc, etc. In Brazil they live on a lot less, yet are much happier, having one of the lowes suicide rates in the world. NZ has one of the highest. Theres a lot I dont like here, but its what it is & it aint going to change cause of some little peanut like you sitting on his computer abusing people that disagree with ya!!!! |

Perhaps JJ would like to consiser the perceptions of another greedy "National or ACT supporter" , Hone Harawira.
Here's an extract from yesterday's Agenda program on TV1.
HONE Oh sure, I mean they have, to assume that they can simply sit there and pass an Electoral Finance Act when the whole world was saying this sucks and in fact itâs come back to bite them on the bum shows how disconnected they were with reality to try and ram through legislation at this late stage in the game is arrogant, it suggests that they are really only â and then to stack all of these quangos with their cronies suggests that they see themselves going out and theyâre really just trying to maintain as much power as possible, thatâs arrogant, thatâs nothing to do with coalition building, and in fact the Labour Party has yet to come out clearly and say these are the sorts of things weâd like to do with the Maori Party. |

Helen and her band of cronies have definitely got to go before this country disintegrates into nothing but a socialist state existing on welfare.
Oh, we're almost there.
You can rant on about employers and rich people, but it's the people of this country that work for a living (and I know I work bl**dy hard) that are paying the penalty of 9 years of Labour government.
It's an insult that after 9 years of overtaxing us they offer us a pittance in tax relief. Food prices alone have risen 10.8% this year. It's a sad indictment of a government when hard working parents can't afford to feed, clothe and raise their children without receiving welfare in the guise of "working for families". They should be able to do that, and save money as well.
As for the economy, how can you say Cullen, etc. have done a good job. 20 companies this year have gone down the tubes taking millions in people's savings with it. NOT rich people, but ordinary folk who just wanted to save for their retirement. Did the Labour Government step in and help with that after the first few starting going down! No way.
And how she can talk about Trust on the same day she unveils a billboard with a picture of herself that is NOTHING like her - she can't even be honest with her advertising. It should be a Tui Add - "This is a real likeness of Helen Clarke - Yeah Right!" |
