Harry Gregson Williams - he did the soundtrack for "Narnia" too I think...
Ms Kelly - Kelly Rowlands has a beautiful voice, she reminds me of Ann Peebles. A little too "disco" for me -- that comment should catch me some flack! I think David Guetta [ the Guettablaster! ] has some great ideas too, so there's some interesting people to check out..
Brett Dennen ? I guess . Didn't he do some project for world poverty? Made a cool album with a dude called Max Gabriel {?] Might not be quite right there....
Someone who may surprise is a lass name of Stephanie Dosen. She certainly has a sweet voice, if a little syrupy-pop. Or am I being too judgmental?
....time for some more Giant Sand i think..... |

"The Book of Knots" by The Book of Knots
extraordinarily unusual - dark forboding sea-shanty music with overtones of early Pink Floyd, the strangest parts of Procol Harem, a spot of Massive Attack, maybe a dash of Rammstein and any other musical spice the band happened upon - even a bit of country? An album that is hard to conjure comparisons for...
Audibly challenging if you like heavy music. |

south - check out some of the other posts . . .
There's a fair few moderns mentioned . . .
My kick at the mo' is "The Book of Knots" - but I must say that there is no release date on the cover... and probably not of interest to most.
Depends what sort of music you like.
country...."Baskery" are new and worth a listen, not ordinary country though..
Maybe check out "Crystal Antlers" if you're after a modern psychedelic head-ache....
Or some of what "Iron and Wine" are up to...
then there's the list that includes "K'naan" for some quality rap...
I could go on, but my morning coffee is getting lonesome. |

"Lost and Found" by Ledisi
Awesome! She may have been compared to Amy Winehouse, and if you like Amy but don't like Amy [ if you know what I mean ] you will love Ledisi.
I reckon she is doing the best R'n'B/ Soul I've heard for a long whiles. |
