Mar, this isn't really Motown, but 'Dark End of the Street' is a neat song. Lots of bands have covered it - one of the best was the Commitments' version in the film. Have a look at this link;

| I love motown! Even though I'm only 26, it was music that my parent's used to listed to. I'm a big fan of Al Green, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Manhattans. It's probably why I love R&B so much, this genre is pretty much where it all started :) |

| "heard it through the grapevine" ranked number 1 of all motown hits, for lasting popularity and influence.....simply a blast. Good song but personally I get tired of it LoL !!! Yeah the Temptations "My Girl" also scores highly. Look out for the Motown 50th anniversary early January 2009, hope our radio stations and tv pick up on it...goooooo Smokey :) |
