Saphire and Steel.
A sci-fi type thriller.
BBC made it for adults-mid evening type viewing.
TVNZ got it all wrong and thought it was for kids-mid afternoon viewing. Used to scare the bejeepers out of me.

| sesame st, play school, after school, scooby doo, smurfs, what now, I only ever watched tv for an hour after school and a couple of hours on Sat morn then it was out into the real world with my mates, bush, huts, hunting, sledging down our hill, blackberry picking, plum gathering, feeding the lambs, playing footy, BMXing, swimming down the river, I watched some kids the other day here and it was great to see them having so much fun just being kids doing kids stuff, reminded me of my childhood and how great it was and how lucky we are here in NZ that we can still play and enjoy the outdoors no matter how old we are or get. |

I clearly remember watching the very first episode of Beverly Hillbillies with a line that has stuck with me forever - 'With the money they are offering you for this land, you could buy the Taj Mahal!' Jed: 'I'll take it'
Only one channel, they were regional then, DNTV started 5.30 ended about 9.30 I think.
Watched Clutch Cargo, Sea Hunt, Danger Man, The Avengers, The Flintstones |
