| Before we all forget most Labour Politicians also have incomes outside of parliment. At least National politicians declare their business'/incomes etc. Most Labour members are only part time politicians and full time Landlords. How many of us live in their rental properties and don't even know it. When Helen and her mob talk about TRUST who's kidding who. Remember, "You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time," but they can't fool me. Imagine having Micheal Cullen as a neighbour, it ain't pretty and that is the reason I'm not voting Labour because he has got into parliment through the back door. He doesn't represent any constituency therefore does not act in a responsible manner especially with OUR tax money. He can't even control his own dog much less the purse strings of the country. National all the way, with a little bit of Act or Maori Party on the top. Is that ok with everyone? |

| Who cares if politicians own property and are landlords, I fail to see the problem with that. Many average Kiwis have invested in rental properties. Whats the big deal! |

DEFINATELY - John Key knows how economy works - you can't keep spending, then say oops - we have no money left, we thought we had a surplus, but now its all gone and we have a massive debt. Labour has shown it is out of touch with reality - spend - spend - spend - then nothing for rainy day. Any government has to be able to have something in the kitty. Labour only waited until election year to give workers who are struggling a tax cut - too little too late.
John Key has his feet on the ground and understands business and work. |

Hang on, I thought the present economic crisis (too soon to call it a Depression) is due to the way that the people that know all about the money market screwed up?
What makes you think that people that "know the money market" would be any good at running a country? They can't even run their businesses without needing trillion dollar bailouts. |

| Labour has guided us to the brink of disaster: economically, socially and politically - and it's time for a change. Helen and Dr. Cullen claim to have run a strong economy - yet we have the worst growth stats in the OECD countries during what was a time time of global prosperity (coincidently OECD measures are only used when it suits them). Violent crime is up; the court systems are stuffed; nobody can speak for fear of being labelled 'politically incorrect' or worst; our smart people (the ones that drive the economy forward) are leaving in droves while Helen continues to hand out 'our' money in the biggest period of uncontrolled spending government spending ever. I wouldn't complain if it was being spent on infrastructure, but instead its being frittered away on 'groceries'. Labour supporters need to take off their rose coloured glasses and see the truth before its to late, and the only people left for Helen to 'rule over' are the unemployed and the unemployable. |

Yep ... you said it. The government needs to tend to the needs of the MAJORITY by getting down to grass roots. The time is here when basic 'survival' will be the word on everyone's lips. With the world facing financial crises there will be a great 'leveling'. The 'haves' will find themselves relegated to the posts of the 'have nots' in complete role reversals. Money will become 'worthless'. Those who have not learned to 'do with or do without' will not have the wherewithall to withstand the pressures of poverty and uncertainty and will choose to 'opt out'.
The general populace will not be fooled neither enticed by suave talkers seeking to 'win the election at all costs'.
Only governments focusing on the 'genuine' welfare of the common people they claim to represent will be the order of the times ahead. |

polls polls , what ever . still nats . unchanged by desperate weak lies of labour . am quite open about the fact that im voting for keys as PM . we just need a leader who's more interested in leading the country as a whole and less interested in catering to gay marriages and extreme minorities . does not mean i agree or support nats policies on the whole .
. i think some one in tv 3 is a labour supporter and phoned all their friends to take part in a poll lol. i don't care if "the gaps" closing .. a loser is a loser no mater how close they are to a winner in a race ..silver medals ..hahah a silver is a consolation prize for the one that lost the race |

Have you forgotten the record of the previous National government? - privatised and decimated the power industry, sold the railways to a pack of shysters who robbed the country blind. Have you forgotten the last days of the Jenny Shipley government (National's last PM, for those too new to remember. Helen's mild by comparison!)? - lowered the drinking age as a desperate bribe to hang on to power and unleashed teenage binge-drinking. Perhaps some of you National supporters are too young to remember how relieved the country was to get rid of National back then. Or maybe you've come to NZ since and don't know the history. Well do some research.
You may be disgruntled with Labour. That's fine, you're entitled to be. But you are making a mistake if you think the automatic answer is to vote National IN just to get Labour OUT. Unless you really believe National is what you want, which is obviously not the case with many of you, then don't be so hasty to get rid of the devil you know by inviting in the devil you seem blissfully unaware of. |

Take a good hard look mate! Have you forgotten what Labour have done for this country in the last nine years....ABSOLUTLY NOTHING!!!!!
Time to bring in some fresh ideas and thinking, and a government that actually listens to the people who pay them all those tax dollars. We voted with our voice a few times and Labour rolled all over us........they did not listen to the people of NZ at all!!!!
I am in no way making a mistake by voting for National, I will be voting for a change for the better. NATIONAL!!!! |

Vote for labour... All you are seeing is the outer gloss. God help you !!
This labour Government would not have a clue how to reduce their $6 Billion deficit. Their Deficit is currently 20% of GDP, third world stuff - How will they start to reduce that deficit, by an increase in indirect taxation via their emissions Trading scheme which will affect the less well off more than anyone else. At the end of the day this scheme will likely, only trade high priced pieces of paper which will NOT reduce carbon output/s. A totally dishonest scheme & designed to collect many $Billions of Dollars in excess of what they would be required to pay for their Kyoto obligations. In respect to their policy on Industry & production - the country is in close down mode. Labour HAVE NOT had any policy in their nine years of office to either slow down, deter or reverse, Industry from moving offshore. Take a good look at their achievements, or lack of, in this regard...Zilch. The country needs to begin growing again and you do you hear any policy whatsoever from them on this subject. The $700 million they offered to industry for Research & Development (R&D) was seemingly a good policy on the surface - but when analised it could encourage taxpayers to subsidise Industry R&D in new Zealand and then have the products manufactured overseas. If the Govt had of limited their R&D subsidy to companies who solely produced the end result in NZ., then perhaps, NZ may have started to benefit. Sadly not. |
