About benefit payments, now the bennys are crying that they dont get to see the tax cuts and that its so unfair that they get paid so much less than what working people do. What do you really think that you should get paid the same as someone who works all week? When will people get of their ar se and start taking responsibility for themselves.

Whats you point? You think that everyone else should pay your way? I would tell you to scrub up but that might be to much like work I guess.

What is your issue with my post exactly? Do you think that people that cant be bothered working should get paid the same as people that do work? Im not talking about people that genuinely cant work, Im talking about people that don't want to work 40 hours a week because they are to lazy.

i agree cripple-there are plenty if jobs down south on the farms and they are having get workers in from overseas because some kiwis are too lazy to work. and the unemployed should not get the same tax icrease as us who choose to work because we have families to feed.

Re:Im sick of hearing........ Reply to this message
i fully agree with this post, its not right that we tax payers should pay for people to live a life of leisure. if somebody genuinely CANT work then thats fine, and i dont mind paying my tax for their benefit but when your too lazy to work and you think its somehow your right to be kept, then thats bulls.hit and you do not deserve tax cuts, at all.
i also think that solo mums on the benefit should get a tax cut but only if they are deserving, not if they are just popping out babys and getting p.issed every night.

November, I thought you were offshore, do you still have to pay tax here in NZ? (not my area of expertise hence my question - but seems like a raw deal).

Cripple, I support your position.

Last count there were a whole 99 people in Taupo who were on the dole, and there are stacks of places down here looking for staff over the summer. Okay they might be fast food joints and cleaning jobs, but they're jobs. Come down here!

"....if somebody genuinely CANT work then thats fine, and i dont mind paying my tax for their benefit..."

I have to agree with you there. The few people I know who are on disability benefits would've paid enough tax in their working lives to cover their own benefits anyway.

Welfare and benefits are Labour govt. growth areas and the more it pays out the more taxes it has to collect. Don't be sucked in by their tax cuts because the funding for will eventually be paid by you the taxpayer. It's called a clawback.

With a population of over 34000, I think your 99 people on UB is pretty low.Its not always as simple as it may seem to get the right person in the right job. I used to work for WINZ in the employment sector and as an example of what Im saying, had a great lady willing to do anything, but had severe dermatitis so couldnt clean, handle food etc.
Its not all about laziness.

Re:Im sick of hearing........ Reply to this message
It's quite simple really.

If you want to work you go and find a job.
If you are unable to work because of a disability/sickness (proven) then the govt/society should support you.
If you don't want to work ....... you don't get a pharking cent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not on a benefit but when i was i can tell you it wasn't easy, and furthermore, solo parents on a 'benefit' have to get off their 'ar ses' and do stuff for their children. babies and toddlers don't actually get their own food or change their own nappies. beneficiaries also have bills to pay just like you do, rent phone food power and other expenses. so of course they are going to moan about not getting a 'payrise'.

Yes beneficiaries do indeed have bills to pay just like the rest of us do, but I would just like to ask you who pays those bills?

If a working person doesnt budget enough for food they cant just pop down for a food grant, need dental work fine here we will pay towards that too, wow you got a job interview here we will give you money for some clothes. If your on the dole and not out job hunting you should sit in a hall somewhere from 830 - 500 be sober and dressed appropriately and do nothing, not sitting at home watching sky or at a mates place having a few beers if you don't show up no money simple as that.
