Can I ask a silly question? When you turn 65 do you intend to stop work and claim the pension? If so, you'll be a 'beneficiary'. Oh my that word has ugly connotations doesn't it. Superannuitant sounds so much more dignified.
Don't lump everyone into the same box please. |

| If someone wants to work two three four jobs they shouldn't be penalized by secondary tax, enough people get rewarded for not working at all. I'm not worried about the people that need support if you are truly needy or retired, my issue is with people that have no pride and are happy to just sponge their entire life and think that they deserve the people that work and the people that can't to carry them. |

| Nail on the head. If the need is genuine, by all means. If retired, same thing. On the benefit because you can when there is work out there, I think not. Basic community work is an easy fix and it achives something along with hardworking kiwi's get to see their money doing something productive. |

| What about this for an idea. We have now got generations where children are being bought up with never knowing that dad or mum should have to work. Theyve never known their dad to be gone when they get up in the morning and dad to come home at night after work. What about those on the dole having to clock in somewhere at 8.30 in the morning then again at 6.30pm every day to receive their dole, no clock in no bux, simple pimple! |

| Yeah It is a good idea, no sleeping in, and get them into a routine of having to be up and somewhere at a certain time, I would add make them stay somewhere for 8 hours a day too hope they get board and decide that working might be more fun and productive choice. |

obviously your email was a wind up, but if it wasnt and you really are that stupid, you just proved our point. the benefit is NOT for a few extra packs of ciggies or a few dozen beer. its so you can afford to pay your rent and keep the power on so your kids dont freeze to death.
its a fallback safety net, so if you get fired or made redundant you can survive until you find ANOTHER job.
it is ridiculous that solo mums work their ar.ses off to pay their rent and their taxes ( to pay your benefit) all the while they are struggling to pay for childcare. some would be better off scrounging every last cent out of the government, oh, like you. |

I've got a simple solution for those able-bodied people on the dole who say they can't get a job (won't work more likely).
Stick them in the Army for 2 years and they can do a couple of tours as peace keepers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

What a silly suggestion
unemployment is necessary for the economy in fact we need a higher level to keep all the good workers on lower wages.
And
it costs about $25,000 to $50,000 per member of the armed services the dole is a cheap warehouse for underachievers. |
