White supremacy is a racist[1] ideology based on the assertion that white people are superior to other racial groups. The term is sometimes used specifically to describe a political ideology that advocates the social and political dominance of whites.[2]
White supremacy, as with racial supremacism in general, is rooted in ethnocentrism and a desire for hegemony. It is associated with varying degrees of racism as well as a desire for racial separation. White supremacy has often resulted in anti-black racism and antisemitism, although it has also involved prejudice and discrimination against a wide variety of "non-white" groups. |

| White Power is a white nationalist political slogan and a name for the associated ideology. It was coined by American *** Party leader George Lincoln Rockwell. He used the term in a debate with Stokely Carmichael of the Black Panther Party, after Carmichael issued a call for "Black Power". White Power became the name of the American *** Party's newspaper, and the title of a book by Rockwell. Many white nationalists, including white supremacists and certain neo- *** s, have since used the phrase White Power to describe their political goal. |

Holocaust denial
In 1996, the League of Rights (see PARTIES, ORGANIZATIONS, MOVEMENTS) sought to promote a debate on whether or not a Holocaust had occurred. Their attempts were largely unsuccessful, and they claimed that public debate was being stifled by "Zionist" groups. They pointed to the controversy in New Zealand over the book Goebbels: Mastermind of the Third Reich, written by Holocaust-denier David Irving (see United Kingdom). Although the book has not yet been released in New Zealand, the media have expressed concern over Irving's agenda and the possibility of his visiting the country.
Assessment
Antisemitism continues to play a minor role in political and cultural life in New Zealand. The main audience for such views is likely to be found among supporters of an outdated Social Credit tradition or those displaying neo-fascist sympathies, notably skinheads. The violence of the latter is a cause for concern, especially in South Island cities where they have become involved in a wide range of criminal activities, although their numbers remain relatively small. When antisemitism does occur in the public arena, it tends to receive a robust critical response. |

Black Power is a prominent gang in New Zealand. Black Power was formed in the late 1960s by MÄori youth in Whakatane, in response to the rival Mongrel Mob gang. The gang then emerged in Wellington and Auckland and spread to other major centres and rural towns in New Zealand. Members are predominantly from New Zealand's MÄori and Polynesian ethnic groups.
The Black Power has several affiliated youth gangs who wear the blue colours but operate under different names such as Crips in several locations or The Dark SideThat started in Wellington Central.[citation needed]
Like other gangs in New Zealand, they offer a surrogate family for disenfranchised young men and is known to be increasingly active in organised crime, such as drug dealing.[1] While the gang has distanced itself from violent acts of some of its members in, for example, a child abuse case, police have in return accused the gang members of using violence as a 'learned behaviour from involvement in the gang'.[2] |

| Supporters of the Mongrel Mob wear their patch along with red and white scarves whilst the Black Power wear their Patch with blue and black scarves. A patch is standard uniform for a âHalf Jacketâ or âCut-offâ (leather or denim vest) with colours/patch (gang emblem) on the back, usually covering the back. âRockersâ have the names and place of the gang. The name usually goes on the top rocking downwards and the place on the bottom rocking upwards. There are some exceptions, like on older patches or with some of the Black Power branches who wear their faction name at the bottom like âForeverâ or âUnitedâ. The Black Power salute is the fist facing forward. |

Dont wont to usurp but The mongrel Mob Originated in Hawkes Bay not Whakatane in response to the rise of the Black power.
Hastings I think was the town. Their name came after a learned Judge stated they were akin to a pack of mongrel's.
Black power were an established gang prior to the Mob but then a certain Denise H**** started a splitter group from black power and called them Black power Nomads.It is debated as to why this group was formed but some law enforcement folk claimed it was because BP specifically in the Wgtn region were too soft. |

I am not to fussed who started what first, which gang that is, because gang culture of any kind that promotes a certain ideal that it is okay to oppress and suppress any young person, woman and child is just that a gang, black white red pink or yellow!etc... a gang is a gang in the social policy arena! Racism is taught and not bred, and while there are contentious issues in the social arena concerning generational gang issues,,,so be it, no gang is better than any other! |

Read a little of what a gentleman Named Chris BLATCHFORD has written in regards to the USA.
As for New Zealand I would suggest the best authority is Jarrod GILBERT from Canterbury University.
"documentaries" hosted on our TV channels by some 'Lush' who shares a toke with the boys is merely "entertainment"

| While they are a nuisance to society...unlike the white power, black power was not formed on a racial base. Things of course have changed over the last 20 years, but when it started up in the late 60's from a garage in Wellington, the movement was a lot more proactive for Maori people to develop life style living in urban areas. Unfortunately that was short lived, and now many misinformed people are developing their own beliefs. I can assure you its not about colour! |

mike.hemsley@xtra.co.nz Look further. That happened in the Wanganui district court. There were 3 white guys and one Maori, then they moved over to Hastings. I know all their names but will not post them on here. Had a mate in the Galgoffa MC here in Wanganui when they were going. He said they were animals. My mate served time with one of them in Rangipo prison way back. They also gate crashed his brothers 21st. The judge that convicted was a judge Fabion
They had a house here in Bell St Wanganui that they used to race their bikes around. They pulled down all the landlords fencing to achive this. They even burnt all the landlords furniture. My mate said they certainly lived up to their name. They were four guys he said that you just didnt mess with. They used to drag race up and down Glasgow street on their bikes as well.
Their orinal patch was beer been poured from a gumboot. |
