Re:I believe in jesus
Was actually quoting from the meaning of Epistemology.

Epistemology is the philosophical study of knowledge and belief. A primary problem for epistemology is exactly what is needed in order for us to have knowledge. In a notion derived from Plato's dialogue Theaetetus, philosophy has traditionally defined knowledge as justified true belief. The relationship between belief and knowledge is that a belief is knowledge if the belief is true, and if the believer has a justification (reasonable and necessarily plausible assertions/evidence/guida nce) for believing it is true. from the website below

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belief

I didn't change any words. And again, how am I trying to support that I believe in Jesus, when I have several times told you quite clearly that I don't believe in him?

Re:I believe in jesus
The message most people don't receive from christianity is that we are here with one commandment, to love our God above all others, and love thy neighbour as thy self.

In a world where everyone wants to get ahead, make more money, get more and more of everything, Jesus says, you are here to serve one another, to Love, to have patience, to have compassion to find your real priorities in why you are here and the gifts you have been given to help spread this message.

So in your adulthood, i would challenge you to pick up the new testament, read the word and make your own adult findings on Jesus and the message. If you need help there are plenty of avenues for reading the word. Then you will have your own teachings on Jesus.

Re:I believe in jesus
I didn't say it was the dictionary meaning of knowledge. I was talking about the relationship between belief and knowledge. please read before you criticise me, and please please stop telling me I believe in Jesus.

christianity is not so much belief, but FAITH-fiath is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Heb11:1

Re:I believe in jesus
Exactly and there's the key. The word justification. And that is the point, there is none.

Thank you and I'm glad you have helped in sorting out the matter and that you have proved that there is no such thing as Jesus.

You don't get it do you? That's exactly what the Christians are saying. They don't have to prove anything. So without it what the hell are they going on about and I BELIEVE you are a secret Christian.....

Re:I believe in jesus
Knowledge is knowing something, Belief is believing in something, and that something could turn to knowledge if proven. If a man believes a bridge is stable so he crosses and if it is indeed stable, then this belief turns to knowledge. He will now know it is stable. If it falls, then his belief will be proven to be false.

We haven't crossed that bridge yet, so what is wrong in believing it is stable???

Re:I believe in jesus
awwww, you believe I am a secret Christian, but you have no proof. Does that make your belief any less? Even though I have told you I don't believe in Jesus and I am not a christian, you still insist on telling me I must be. I am here saying you can't proove, or dissproove Jesus. I am in no way spouting on about his existence. I don't know if he exists or not. But if I find out I'll let you know k??

Re:I believe in jesus
Thanks sonya.dore.

It helps being a pragmatist of the highest order...you should see me try to buy a tie or the like, and fuss I go through making those kind of decisions, lol.

I'll leave this forum now, having said my bit. Thanks for this opportunity to have my say, and respecting that like me, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which is the basis for harmony, but ironically can also lead to conflict. It's a devilshly (pardon the pun) hard tightrope we walk in this life in seeking to do the right thing for oneself and for others.

The bridge is an example. Hence why it started with "if".
I'm sure "if" there was a Jesus, he would love you. Everyone else thinks you're a w.anker.

Re:I believe in jesus
Exactly, as the Christians cannot prove Jesus' existence... You've just said it and if you have no proof what are they doing it for. You never answered my thoughts on, me waiting for a billion dollars to hit me on the head. Not just unlikely bloody impossible so why would I wait around for that to happen?

Re:I believe in jesus
OH MY GIDDY AUNT! YOU CAN'T PROOVE HE DOESN'T! THEY CAN'T PROOVE HE DOES! that's it there in a nutshell. My arguemnet is that if you believe he doesn't, then for you he doesn't. But to say that because there is no proof so then he must not exist, it's ignorant. He might not have talked to you or I, but that might just be because he just doesn't like us.

How clever and as I haven't stooped so low a snakes ass in a wagon rut unlike terijoy, NO I HAVEN'T MET ANY MATCH. DID ANYONE SEE ANYONE ELSE OTHER THAN THE WOO WOO'S APLAUDING HER CHILDISH OUTBURST. VINCE THE C PERHAPS. NO, NO WE DIDN'T.

Re:I believe in jesus
And I didn't answer your comment on the billion dollars because it didn't really deserve an answer. Hope me bringing it up now soothes your ego a bit, cos I know you only brought it up yet again so that you would get some kinda answer. The disappointment in it not being answered straight away must have really irritated you. I'm sure there's a cream for that though. You'll be fine.

TERIJOY BECOMES CONFUSED....... SEE BELOW....

"The bridge is an example. Hence why it started with "if".
I'm sure "if" there was a Jesus, he would love you. Everyone else thinks you're a w.anker."

AND THEN YOU SAY:

"He might not have talked to you or I, but that might just be because he just doesn't like us."

Are you talking medicine of some form or another?
