"Believers" do not want people to understand god, because he cant be understood. There is no rational explanation to the contradicions contained in the bible.
Truth is, there is no god and the bible is a con used to create a power base of "believers" who are willing to follow something without understanding it. I would say its foolish to follow something without understanding it? Look at Hitler, he managed to con millions to the cause. |

| Hi tok,i certainly wasnt implying that i believe in a god,just wondering how christians think atheists will be judged by(your)god.Thanks for a polite answer:) Sonja,it is a hard pill to swallow,what about the millions through history who have for whatever reason never heard of jesus or christianity?Do they (according to the christian religion) still go to hell even though through no fault of their own they were oblivious to christianity? |

I need to retract a statement.
I cannot proove there is no god, therefore its a possibility there is one. However I doubt very much there is one, and if there is, he is probably not as portrayed by any of the religions.

mark .. you are doing what so many on here have already done so many many times .
you are offering an embitterd opinion with nothing what so ever to back up or validate what you say .
while you may wish your opinion were true , that wishing does not make them true .
now many wil ,of course say .. "mike just becasue you wish god is true doesnt make it so , and that would be a fair and valid argument ..except for the fact that it leaves one major factor out of the equation , the fact that having beleived and applied the word of God to my life i have tangibly experienced the love and power of the lord jesus .
there are many sorrows and as god himself had stated .. sometimes he allows people to pas through death to spare them from further suffering in this life .
your word portray that you have experienced pain and confusion . but that still does not make your claims of the non existence of god true . because it is not true . |

Love is merely an emotional tie to someone or something.
It is not magical, its actually a natural emotional feeling of liking someone and having the desire to not loose them.
Love is not handed out by god, its handed out by yourself and its your belief that you love, not the belief that loves you.
Love can be applied to ficticious people such as GOD

if that is what you understand love to be then you have never known it .
to love is to give not take to let go not keep.
love is not a feeling it is not listed among the emotions .
emotions are activated by love but love itself is a willing action of choice , an act of will .
love can show mercy to an enemy while that enemy is violently beating you because love is a thing you choose to do . an emotion is not so, an emotion is a reaction based on something happening ,but love , remains a choice to lay self down for the betterment of another .
and in your challenge for "anyone to convert you " anyone included God!
so i will leave it between you and him as it would appear you already know everything you need to know , the battle lays in your heart between god and you and whoever it is you need to forgive .

I find no contradictions in the Bible. I am aware of the lists on the atheist websites, a number of which have been thoroughly debunked on this thread.
IMO (and to my sorrow) some of the 'contradictions' triumphantly brandished by atheists as proof of the Bible's fallability hide the sweetest and most profoundly awe-inspiring truths in the universe. |
