this thread was never about "god is real" vs "god is not real". the idea was that we could discuss whether jesus was indeed a man, upon which christianity grew. my feeling is that he probably was a real dude, but would have been forgotten if it wasn't for those pesky romans, who even made it law to be christian and nothing else.
stop bagging my thread, i think it has a life of its own :)
as for blaspheming, we're not in sunday school, i'm sure we can talk about jesus the person like grownups |

Or that Jesus kingly connection back to David is via Joseph's side of the family??? how come when Joseph wasn't meant to be his real dad??? |

"There is no reliable evidence that Jesus ever lived"
that may be true... But as your site went on to show there is NO reliable evidence that he didn't exist as well... i.e you can show doubt that he existed, but you can not PROVE he did not exist... and there is a bid difference...
The reality is, it all comes down to believe... You believe he didn't exist and others say he did... because there is no "Beyond reasonable doubt" evidence either way... |

Still, even the most admirable of atheists is nothing more than a moral parasite, living his life based on borrowed ethics. This is why, when pressed, the atheist will often attempt to hide his lack of conviction in his own beliefs behind some poorly formulated utilitarisem, or argue that he acts out of altruistic self-interest. But this is only post-facto rationalization, not reason or rational behavior.

You are completely missing my point... Your evidence does not prove beyond any doubt that Jesus does not exist... It suggest it and strongly argues the likelihood he did not exist... BUT it does not and cannot catergorically show without any doebt that he did not exist...
Christains belive he walked on water (an imposible act) I think their belief and faith will get over "He probably didn't exist"...
If you really believe that this evidence will end christainity you are deluded... Someone would need to show "WITHOUT ANY DOUBT" that he did not exist... because if there is a 1% chance, that will be enough for those with faith...
... I can see that and I'm not Christain... |
