| to believe or not to believe, ha?! to believe from a book called the Bible, or with the bible and personal experiences? at least this is better that a full page of sex or alcohol or drugs or NZ stuff that carries on!why is faith such a 'conversation' piece, whether ignorant nor not? up to the person to see, to seek, the choice is simple, believe or not! that is all! people believe in drugs, karma, drink, sex, or outside resourses to get through, who ever looked into their own inner self to seek if it is real or not? and not just an idea from a book, that maybe justs looks good, yet may have something behind it!? in other countries, this is just the tip of the ice berge! |

| red pill? i do not do drugs as why should i? if you need to go for it! if for you life is soo cheap, then up to you, there are enough problems in this 'civilized' society, than to take a pill, and hope it will go away. enough people do that, without 1 more joining the group, for what?easy to do? life is life, just be strong enough to get on with it! you take the 'red pill' if you want to! i must admit, some of the most amazing stuff for here, even for threads! Peace be with you all, and no I was a catholic, not now, yet am a Christain, on the spritual side... oh, for a debate or an arguement, Jesus And Our father (God) does exsist, mostly in spirit form, to thoughs who seek. it is called a relationship- no not a rude word either! dewa mata! |

| actually this thread was not about belief in jesus and god per se, it was more about believing that jesus probably was a man like any other, and that even an atheist like me is happy to imagine some guy called jesus (or similar) walking around being a prophet. Futher, my guess is that he owes his current popularity to the romans, who made it law to be christian and none other. |

Andrew, You wanted a test of Faith.
My son was waiting for an organ transplant, he had been on the list for 2years, then we were told his name was now top & to be ready at a minutes notice to get to the hospital. In the meantime my sister in law who was a member of a small church in Cheshire England had put my son's name on their prayer list (about 600 people were praying for him). He started to improve, then I got the phone call, it was Saturday about 5.30pm. I had just been for my lotto ticket. It hits you, someone had just died, there was a donor. I rang my son, he very quietly said, Mum I cannot go, God is healing me, I have Faith & I believe he will. I have always been strong in my own Faith, to hear this from my son, he is married with 3 children, to back up his Faith with his life was a great lesson to me. He had been told he would die without the transplant, but he believed. I rang the hospital back straight away, another would be a recipient. There is more to this story, but I will leave it there, That was 5 years ago, my son is still alive & well. He was no angel in his younger days, but lives to tell the story of his walk with God.
And do I believe in Jesus ? Yes
Why? Because he taught us how to Live.
Not just to survive, but to know love, have hope, to know that you are never alone even in your darkest hour. |

| Yeah well my mum died of cancer. God had no intrest in helping her. So therefore I have no faith. She was 49 Didnt get to see any of my 4 kids. Great guy jesus and his dad. |

No one has the slightest physical evidence to support a historical Jesus; no artifacts, dwelling, works of carpentry, or self-written m *** crips. All claims about Jesus derive from writings of other people. There occurs no contemporary Roman record that shows Pontius Pilate executing a man named Jesus. Devastating to historians, there occurs not a single contemporary writing that mentions Jesus. All documents about Jesus got written well after the life of the alleged Jesus from either: unknown authors, people who had never met an earthly Jesus, or from fraudulent, mythical or allegorical writings. Although one can argue that many of these writings come from fraud or interpolations, I will use the information and dates to show that even if these sources did not come from interpolations, they could still not serve as reliable evidence for a historical Jesus, simply because all sources derive from hearsay accounts.
Hearsay means information derived from other people rather than on a witness' own knowledge.
Courts of law do not generally allow hearsay as testimony, and nor does honest modern scholarship. Hearsay provides no proof or good evidence, and therefore, we should dismiss it |

| I can't quite remember where, or what chapter, but in the Christian bible it states also that God would not always strive with man, hence the great flood?. As I understand it this means that the Almighty would turn his back on those that constantly disobey his laws? I am not a believer in any of this, but I do know for a fact there are maniacs out there that would condemn a whole country because of the actions of a few, and all this because of their own private believes, it's just unfortunate that some of these people are powerful figure heads, total morons but morons with enough pull see to it that we suffer. I do think their is a higher power than our own meager little selves, but I don't think it is as cruel as man. There are none of us perfect, but I do have enough faith in the human race to bring an end to it's suffering, I just wish it was sooner rather than later. |

firstly pontius pilot didn't execute Jesus , he washed his hand and handed him over to the religious leaders at the time .. a happening that was foretold so many times in the old testament and fulfilled as it was foretold .Fulfilled with extreme accuracy in harmony with what was written 1000's of years earlier .
2ndly , Re all claims about Jesus derive from writings of others ... actually scroll back over all the threads where believers have testified ... ( hopefully you know what "to testify " means .. and you will see that all claims as to Jesus being alive today come from personal experiences .. (healings in particular not being imagination ) and these testimonies do not become untrue simply because you choose to not beleive what people say.
not one testifier to the reality of the lord Jesus and his power in thier lives has anything to gain by testifying . |
