So there I was - about 10.00am Wednesday morning - minding my own business lying on the operating table when I happened to glance up and there before me, dancing across a curtain someone had put up in front of me, were these dancing elephants!!

Not just ANY dancing elephants, PINK ELEPHANTS, all dancing in perfect unison, and as if that wasn't enough, they were followed by yellow and then green elephants ...

I lay there with my 'eyes open' and started chuckling, as you do ... I blinked a few times, but still they danced, and I chukled 'louder' -

"Are you okay Mr Stevens ?!?!", the theatre technician asks ..

'Heh Heh - Yeah, I'm just great ...' ...

Ketamine - You gotta love the stuff!!!

~ Admitted Wednesday 07.30am ...
~ In theatre by 09.00am ...
~ Dancing Elephant Review by 10.00am ...
~ Bone being cut by a 'hand-saw' at about 10.10am ...
~ I remained awake until being taken out of theatre at about 11.00am ...
~ In Orthopaedic Ward by about 12.30pm ...
~ Upright and stuffing face by 12.31pm ...
~ Up on crutches and showing-off to physio at 10.00am Thursday ...
~ Showering self by 01.00pm ...
~ Ketamine removed - BOOOOOOOOOOOOO - 09.00am Friday ...
~ All drains, IV drips and catheter - YAYYYYYYYYYYY - removed 10.00am Friday ...
~ Home by 10.45am Saturday ...
~ Throwing objects at TV by 08.00pm ...

How am I feeling ?!? EX-cellent -

Phantom 'pains' ?!? - More pins-and-needles than pain ...
Phantom 'sensations' ?!? - Sounds cliched but yep, I reached to scratch my 'leg'!! ... When I move the stump it feels as if I'm swinging my leg - VERY weird ...

Pleased to see the Balcony being kept clean and tidy, weather here at home is lousy, so I needed somewhere to lay in the sun and convalesce .... Nice -

According to the Pain Nurse, give someone the right dose of ketamine, and you could chop their arms and legs off and they wouldn't feel a thing. Sadly like many things though, she said ketamine is now being abused ...
