I'm backing Daffodil after watching Garry Chittick and his wife Mary on TV last night.
You could easily tell he loved animals - dogs and horses alike.

I'd rather back a Kiwi horse any day of the week, than an Aussie one.

Re:The Melboune Cup Reply to this message
Oh shot elalamein - hmmm would be great to see his stable take another out eh!

Loto is heading for the French horses, Wolsley for the kiwi's which are long overdue a cup. I am now swaying a little. Funny thing is i usualy only ever punt on MC day which is lunacy really as it is a toughy to pick the winner out of 24 as oposed to 8 or so... great fun though.

Will scratch the head and post my final pick -:)

Re:The Melboune Cup Reply to this message
I like Munsef too chinese ($41 shot will watch if it drifts or tightens

I like Viewed. Bart's stables with Rawiller riding and defending champ. The weight might be an issue though.

Another one im going to throw in the mix is Fiumicino.
Johhny Hawkes trained with King in the hot seat. Decent weight and if it rains i reckon it has a shot. ($61)

Re:The Melboune Cup Reply to this message
Hmm. Duric a solid type jockey but mid-high weight and the distance is questionable. 4th Last MC and beaten fav in 2007. 35 starts - 8 wins Looks like he's slipping some. Huge field so it's a no from me..
