| beefy indicated his reason for leaving ..health issues etc..other than the fact the mention of the environment not being safe about four times etc in the opening post ..which could and i say could have contributed to his own demise as well, and no I am not a teacher, so leaving was his choice, times have changed. |

| there are many teachers who are passionate in regards to education and the changes within.. etc and persevere, good and bad, much like some hang dog pupils be they primary or secondary.. i would not apologise for anything in a debate regarding education, let alone politics. |

What makes me laugh about what a lot of you have posted is that you make judgements about me and you dont even know me
I guess my mistake here was sharing my own experience and I gave the impression that I was having a pity party for me
and for that, I apologize. Dont get me wrong, I love teaching and when I left those schools I left them all on very good terms.
This messageboard is not really about me but about what any teacher will be exposed to in this profession and the teaching environment being safe so that the learning envorenment is safe. No teacher should ever have to leave a teaching session in anger. No teacher should ever have to take on the role that should be carried out in the home and every teacher should be allowed to be safe about their teaching so that the students who they teach are safe about their learning. |

Forgive them beefy t, for they are generally pretty stupid.
Most posters prefer to be heard rather than think. Most get so little real exercise, they are terrified to stop typing because they all gain one pound per day when not typing as opposed to 0.75 pounds per day, when they are.
I wouldn't want to teach these days. I'd be charged with 12 counts of assault on the first day! |

You are so right beefy, many parents choose not to believe that their dear little darrling can't do wrong and if they do wrong then the shift the blame to the teacher.
Teaching is a thankless job, not many see the good things you do and are quick to jump if the think their child has been wronged by you.
The best thing about teaching is when you pupils do achieve and you do see the outcomes of your teaching |

Thank you november and ilovethebush I agree with your comments thank you.
The biggest buzz I get out of teaching is when a student says thank you for teaching me I learnt something new today that I did'nt know yesterday. |

beefy,
wise move to walk out of the classroom rather than stay and say or do something you would later regret.
Heard just 2 days ago from my big sister who is a teacher that there is a small group of kids in her class who cause daily problems with class routine and teaching & learning for all the other kids.
Try not to take to heart the negative and personally insulting responses you will get on here. Most will be from people who have never had to do your job, so are profoundly ignorant about whats involved and what it takes.
Sounds like it's time for you to concentrate on your own health and life, before the stress creates more problems for you.
Good luck. |

Could only imagine what it must be like to be a school teacher these days. Though I have read articles in the NZ Hearld about how unsafe an environment it has become with teachers assaulted and threatened, e.t.c.
What I feel is missing these days is a lack of discipline, not only in the home, but at school. |
