| you should keep them inside all the time unless you can fence your property such that they can't get out, I refer to ALL pets. I should not have to deal with cats defecating in my garden! |

Why is it every year,
the sickos always harm a cat or dog,by putting fireworks onto the tails etc.
Lucky my wifes dog is bomb proof, doesn't even care if a gun is used to shoot the possums, but do know of other dogs who a quivering at the sound of thunder or fireworks.
I still think it is time to ban them, apart from controlled public displays, but then the animals are still scared |

I agree, but wish our cat was still alive as their is a baby rabbit running around on the lawn, but all I need is the old fashioned slug gun and pop it off |

| I think pets should be banned unless there is a valid reason for having one. Fireworks is once a year and we already live in an overly PC country. If the idiot who abuses an animal had to get a permit to have it then they probably wouldn't have had it in the first place. |

| Yeah I guess I refer to the city. In the country pets can live how they are menat to without causing conflict and there is nothng cooler than a country cat that eats bunnies. |

| Double happys were great, in fact i got bored and made my own fireworks. Oxy accetalene in a baloon wrapped in newspaper. Light the paper and run like fk. Another family favourite was a hardened steel tube hack sawed off a towel rail. Fill it with gun powder or empied contents of fireworks, bang down both ends with a hammer, drill hole, add double happy fuse and........run like fk haha. Great days.! Of course we would have the Ao out now now wouldn't we. |

I had pets when we lived in the country.
The fact that some need to keep a pet at home alone all day just to provide them with some company at night is sad chinezeburn. It's tantamount to neglect and physcological abuse in some cases just so people can feel good that something is happy to see them. If the animal is a genuine companion to someone, fine. A dog that fits in a handbag is of no value in my view, niether is a cat that stays at home all day pooing in other peoples gardens while its owner is a work. I don't suggest eliminating the ones that exist just that we should make sure they can't breed and new pets are given to those that will actually get some tangible benefit from them and care for them properly and responsibly. |

| Well the thing is Rye, Animals will continue to procreate with or without our help. We can either give them a great home where they are happy, or toss em to the hills where they will starve and die of diseases. Me i am an animal lover and my pets are happy as shyte! |

Yes time to put all the animals in doors tonight. Okay for the cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs etc.. I also have pet sheep as well as a large mob of cows. Unfortunatley I cannot put them indoors and these guys are absolutly scared out of their minds.
Whilst we are talking about the animals could I also take time to mention those folk who dump their rubbish on the sides of roads out in the country areas, this rubbish (mainly take away wrappers) eventually ends up in the paddocks and of course the younger animals chew on the rubbish, unfortunatly causing them to become quite sick and sometimes even the die. |

What an emergency meeting from the Amway brigade? - Prefer them to call out from the street, that way we can converse with hand signals. |

I agree about having access in case of emergency, I built a large compound for the wifes dog, it used to be plural but as age gets them in the end, only 1 dog now. He is a better watch dog out in his compound than he would be indoors. But in saying that he is run several times a day in the paddocks |
