Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
A paradigm shift in scientific theory is one where a fundamental truth or law needs to be changed, and a whole new viewpoint needs to be considered.
This is currently happening to the theory of evolution. Darwins' theory of natural selection has been proven to be of insignificance in the origin of species to the point where it needs to be completely re-written.
Genetic research is showing that change can happen very rapidly without intermediary stages of development in a very different way to that we have been presented with.
See "The Trouble With Atheism" sky T.V. 14:30 today, or can be viewed on net.

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
Darwin said creation was far more plausible than evolution, but maybe there both right, creation works by evolution.

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
With God as the conductor? Referee? Occasional dabbler? Big squisherooney dude?
For science is now saying He exists.

or that there is an equal chance that He does as there is that He doesn't; and these are not beliefs but scientifically arrived at conclusions.
Arrived at by studying DNA; the new Holy Grail of discovery.

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
So now we can laugh at Atheism as much as any other religion because it is not a road to bliss and harmony any more than any other system of beliefs.

atheism is non belief isnt it, but i like the idea of the creator developing creation through evolution, makes perfect sense really.

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
well that is what an Atheist thinks - he 'believes' that he is justified by evidence in coming to the conclusion that there is and never has been a God, or for that matter 'spirituality'. He is confident in this, but his confidence is unjustified as we now KNOW there is a 50% chance that God does exist. That is a pass rate either way....

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
rockandroll, Do you mean you have not been laughing at atheism up til now? Which "other religions" have you been laughing at? By the way, laughing at a belief does nothing to refute it. I am fascinated by your quaint assumption that atheists think atheism is a road to bliss and harmony, where did you get that idea from???

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
"We" as in the collective society, not a first person context.
It seems ridicule is lack of respect which I termed laughter.
Or war I guess. Me, I don't laugh at peoples beliefs, I just keep on learning what is around to learn, can't do much better than that; except maybe thank God I am living in such amazing times.
Atheism is taught in schools by assumption. What if this is way wrong?

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
True. But at Universities evolutionary theory is taught as fact. New evidence is proving it is not.

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
But this is not about Bibles or Korans or sexual orientation or who can sling poo or criticize.
This is about the way they have discovered DNA works. Instead of gradual changes in a creature via accumulated alterations in cells, the creature may stay the same until all the alterations are at a certain point, then, in a generation or two you have a completely different creature emerge from the original. A bit like a mother chicken having an Archaeopteryx hatch from a chicken egg.
So, what are your ideas on this? For the changes to be valid for the finished creature, the alterations in the DNA would have to follow a plan? Would it work if they were random? Who makes all the plans? The laws of nature?

Re:Paradigm Shift Reply to this message
rock, The plans must be made by the laws of nature, it can't be God making them, He's too busy answering prayers and supplications, and attending Brian's classes to learn what His job really is all about.
