A lot of countries get tourists flooding to them, let alone Australia. You have some sort of obsession it seems, now that is only my opinion.
Most Maori shed their culture? Do they? I thought culture was part and parcel of anyones identity other than Maori.
Your final statement, "redundant culture", wow! it would be fair to say that many cultures would not like to be referred to as redundant, if you are not happy that is your choice.
Do Gorillas dance before the rugby? I love rugby but havent seen any gorillas though. There is a gorilla playing the drums on television though, he does a sterling job dont you think? freedom to express I suppose in this forum, whilst we may not all agree, thank you for sharing. |

Kinda funny. I have lived in and worked all across the Pacific from the US to Malaysia. A life's journey which includes Singapore, Brunei, Australia and New Zealand. I have also visited many other nations both in Asia and Europe. I plan to some day go to Africa and South America so that I can honestly say I have been to every continent on the planet and across every ocean.
New Zealand is the only place in the world where I have felt compelled to say "Sucks so hard, it causes the universe to shrink everytime someone praises it." Keep it up and the universe will implode. Let's see how being green will help you then.
For Pete's sake, Kiwis. Time to face the fact that you are not perfect and there is always room for improvement. Time to acknowledge that you have issues and in doing so, take the first step to solving them. Stop putting your collective heads in the sand and giving the world a moon.
This is the arrogance that Kiwis have. You don't have to look far to see it. Just take a look at the number of vehement "NZ is best!!!" posts here.
Seriously, I would suggest that, unless you like it, any prospective migrant to NZ just give this retarded, arrogant place a miss. Why pay good, hard-earned money to come to a place where you'd be treated as a fourth class citizen and abused constantly with degoratory remarks? I'd go elsewhere if I were you.
The same goes for the 1 million tourists. There are definitely better places in the world to go to. You want good ski-ing, try the US or Europe (Switzerland is pretty good). You like rugged mountain scenery, try Scotland. You want clean and green, try England's countryside (NZ is less clean and green that England; damned by NZ's own Department of the Environment). You want friendly people, try France or the US (nowhere else have I ever encountered people who will come up to you and engage you in conversation just to be friendly and to have a chat). You want safe, try Iceland.
Just stay away from NZ. |

| My husband has been here three months and can't believe now sour people look most days. He works with the public and thinks that there are a lot of strange people here in NZ. Its sad we will probably leave NZ and I will only leave so he will be happy. I love it here but will live anywhere where he will be happy |

| That's so sad November, luckily my experience has been the complete opposite. Had to keep reminding my son (from the UK) to smile at people and greet them when they greeted us in the streets on the weekend. You'd be locked up if you said HI to a complete stranger in the UK :) |
