Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
I assume your name is Frank, my name is Pare Mosen
obviously you have never been on any benefit at all
especially since you have know idea what it is like on
a benefit, some of us are not as lucky as you to have
a job which makes way more than the average beneficary.
Where you get the idea that we do not pay for all the things
you have named in your letter l dont know. We pay tax as
well, oh thats right you didnt know, my benefit is $277.00wkly by the time tax is taken out and of course the money i had to ask for so my power wont get switched off i am left with about $194-200, out of this i have to pay
$200 rent, try some how to put some money down on power and
lines bill. So please research before you have your say, if you would like to contact me please do.

lilchick...We, as employed people, pay your tax, because we, as tax payers, pay your wage!!!!. If things are so tough you may want to cancel your internet connection, sell your computer even, as these aren't essential items to survival, and the money you save and earn could possibly go towards your power bill

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
hmmm - pare seems to be benefit blind. get out and get a job if being on a benefit is so financially hard. cut your internet access off if you can't afford your power. hypocrisy! so you think pay tax on your benefit, winz probably does - but no actually you don't because you don't actually earn that money to start with. stop your moaning - we're giving you - our money - for free!

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
Hey lilchick you may have good reason to claim a benefit but I am talking about the people who think its their right to have their $600 phone billed paid, their overdue power bill, get some under floor heating done, hey I know of people that do this, get WINZ to pay as as I work 40 hours a week to pay mine, us the working class people get fed up funding people on their ar$e who are to lazy to get out and earn their keep. The things they expect us tax payers to pay is rediculous and needs looking at.

If you are not these people lilchick then don't worry we are not talking about you! And yes I have had to be on a benefit in the past, temporary, and thats what it should be - temporary.Theres no way I could live on the money you get so I got a job.

I am NOT talking about pensioners.

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
MOST PEOPLE DONT MIND PAYING FOR WELFARE TO THOSE GENUINELY IN NEED. However in NZ the payment has got way out of hamd and many are making a meal on the backs of those who are earning the money from which tax is taken. The likes of those breeding out of control and unable/unwilling to pay for the cost of their childrens upkeep; those sickness beneficiaries in court on theft and assault charges and so on. The country is too PC to focus on the real problems and instead its everyone elses problem. Time for NZ to wake up, grow up and join the rest of the civilised world before those funding the wastage pack up their bags and leave the country to sink in its own squalor

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
Thats a bit pathetic, yeah sell the computer for $200 seconhand to pay one powerbill, maybe they should sell their toothbrush as well would this make you happy? Obviously people on benefits aren't entitled to anything as far as your concerned.
Just thank yourself lucky you are able to work and dont have health issues which make you unable you to work.
One day this may happen to you and then you will know what it is like to struggle to pay a power bill.

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
Its very small minded of you guys to be so judgemental of people on benefits. Yes there are the blugers and always will be - just as their are the tax fraud workers. There will always be a need for some people to be supported by things like WINZ. So sit back in judgement all you like. One day it might be one of you. People circumstances can vary greatly throughout life. I've been on both ends of the scale. High salary most of my life and now invalids benefit. Its not easy and I know many people that are working, that deliberately avoid tax through "white collar" means to a higher value than several benefits per year. Interestingly these people also bleat about WINZ benefits yet somehow disregard their blatant tax fraud. They are the theives of our country and not the people needing an honest handout. If you workers think your so hard done buy then chuck your jobs and go on a benefit and GOODLUCK making ends meet!!!

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
Lilchick my sympathy is seriously lacking...but I may be wrong so I'll ask the question first, is it an unemployment benefit? (Unemployment is at an all time low). If it is an unemployment benefit - I reckon $277 net is pretty good for zero output. Maybe you could show some sympathy for the poor soul who's actually going out there each and every day on minimum wage, (only $4 more an hour than you get but they have to actually work for their income). As for being LUCKY...I see no luck in someone knocking on doors until they get a job, buying a paper on a wednesday so they can apply for jobs...even jobs they might not like - all so they can pay their bills (and dole bludgers bills too)...there is no excuse that cuts the mustard!

You guys need to get out and vote new zealand first at the next election. They have been trying to get working for the community wage in place for years. How about less retoric and a little support

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
I'm on invalids and visiting my parents using their internet. However I am also lucky enough (or worked hard enough) to have gotton a home and some independance prior to becoming ill. So my struggle is not as great as many others in my situation. I get the minimum invalids with no frills and I manage ok.

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
No luck in that jackie.ras you worked hard, thought ahead and were responsible for yourself - good on you! I'm not sure this whole thread was aiming at invalids or pensioners - well mine wasn't anyway. My objection was to someone who is accepting an unemployment benefit in a society where unemployment is at an all time low, and then having the cheek to tell me that I'm lucky...in effect what they told me was that anyone earning the minimum wage is only really EARNING $4 an hour...

Re:tax payers fund benefits Reply to this message
A percentage of your benefit is indeed taxed, but you don't pay it because you don't earn it. Your benefit is gifted to you by people who work for a living and is taxed on their earnings

lilchick2279 you are sick, everybody is on welfare over there, hell I remember when Bob Jones was given money for his kids and he was a millionaire. Study Link another government handout agency propt up by the enslaved tax payer. lilchick2279 you are a joke coming on here whinging about how little handout you get, have you no personal pride, have you no self respect. Those are the first values to go when you when start begging. Its an honest person who does not consume more than they produce.
