| For my money. The only one still to get a benefit is the one without the license. Perhaps a grant to obtain his/her license to enhance the job prospects.Once done a good day on the end of a shovel in the fresh air(soon would be)would give a great nights sleep. |

| Been a pilot, owned your own business (You work more than 40hrs mate!) then had your health turn to....? Sorry, not all on a benefit fit your idea, so we use the support as a temporary measure to train in another field. |

Philphunter -- your use of the English language is so appalling, I am surprised you are employed at all, my dear.
Still,-- wonders never cease. |

there are alot of people who are using the benefit to get ahead on, it is to exist and exist only, if you want the luxuries of life then they need to get a job!!!
When I am at work I have people ring in and say "oh WINZ have paid my bill..." I feel like saying "oh I work 40 hours to pay mine!!! |

| Hi im a DPB bludger as you so eloquently put it... im on a computor at work because i work part time and they have an internet connection. But i do have a computor at home that was given to my children by their grandparents because it seems to be a school requiste these days..i.e that is they want reports typed on computers etc... i too have worked fulltime and now i find myself in the enviable position of being on winz. I have a child with an illness that requires me to take alot of time off work and jobs that allow me to pick her up from school take her to specialists etc are few and far between...i dunno how these people get xtra handouts cos i can assure you whenever i have needed extra help from winz ive had to be on my knees begging for it and even then its given begrudgingly...i dont like handouts but hey its that stage that i need to have them... so stop grizzling about us and think before you speak (type whatever) |

Jeme I have every right to grizzle if I see fit. You try so hard to distance yourself from the no good losers I've been grizzling about but then you contradict yourself by likening yourself to them by using the term "us"....
I'm sure you meant to say uneviable??? not enviable as you did type...
The computor (computer) you're on at work, (because your employer has an internet connection)...does your employer also know you're spending the valuable time he/she is paying you to "work" scrolling these pages???
PS...I THOUGHT about it, but it still doesn't make me shed a tear.... |

You might be on a benefit but the fact remains that WINZ pay for extras, I have already mentioned that I saw a female get her vacuum cleaner paid for by WINZ also have heard of WINZ paying for Doctors visits, dentists visits, and all the things you need for a baby, eg cots, matress, blankets.
Part of my job is shovelling pig manure so know what you are talking about there.
The Benefit should be a temporary thing, dont have a problem with people getting a benefit until they are able to get on their feet or are unable to because of genuine health problems. What I have a problem with is paying my share of tax to fund those that dont get up out of bed until after lunch, those females that dont keep their legs crossed, those that spend their benefits on P or alcohol or gambling. Those are the people I am sick of funding. To those sorts I say "GET A JOB" you are a drain on the rest of us that do earn an income. |

I think I just saw something somewhere else that showed white-collar crime (read: people who have jobs) cost tax payers almost 3 times as much money as those on benefits.
Wanna whine about them? |

And also ... a lot of people on the dole are on it for unjustifiable reasons but you cannot deny that it has its place.
God forbid one of you has to go through a bad time (REMEMBER IT LOOKS LIKE NATIONal IS GETTING IN FOLKS) and ask for help. |

Firstly for the one who called me a man i am infact a woman, my partner however works 60hrs aweek we pay around 300 a week in tax so that the many ppl who dont deserve a benefit can have one.. im not getting down on all who recieve i just feel im justified in saying that there are far too many who dont deserve this handout.. i did some research ppl on a benefit can claim the following
1 accomodation
2 prescription costs whereas we pay $15 per item and full drs fees
3 300 a yr for dental
4 300 for other medical
5 grants for white ware
6 grants for beds and bedding
7 grants for other furniture
8 even tvs
9 shoes and clothing
10 a special benefit of up to 240 pr week to help with hps
and some are sayng they dont get hand outs with the cost of living these days who helps us workers when our bills go unpaid or our kids need dental glasses or specialist medical treatment..my god winz even pay for sterilisation at nearly 4000 so before you start whining about being called a bludger think of everything you can get then think of what the working man can recieve as "special" help |

It's not like every person who is on the benefit collects every one of those grants.
Also there are people who need them. |

| wow frank peg......when you find yourself out of a job...what do you intend to live off?? A very large number of people are on the dole by not their choice, I for one have worked all my life and I'm now on acc due to a work accident and have been for 3 years, 4 operations later and still no improvements, soon im looking at being booted off acc and then will have to look at some benefit to live!! I damn hope you dont find yourself out of a job as the way things are going you will. |
