If National do get it, and I say they will piss in, it will be interesting to see how long it will take for people to start saying phark National, shouldnt have voted for them lol. Not saying that it will happen, but it has in the past.

kiwiglen111 "no it is a flow on from Don Brash's proposal in 2005"

Yep that's right. Different face - same party. You national guys are so arrogant. And you have the cheeck to tell the rest of us were thick for seeing through the smoke screen of John Key. You have the cheek to say that Winston is a popularist. I can't wait until the real people start voting and you guys lose this election again like you lost 2005 and 2002. Give you enough rope and you will hang yourselves.

It doesn't matter who gets in there will be many moan about them.
I say Well Done Nats for the life means life policy. I have advocated that for years. They could also fund that same policy, and in fact, all the prisons by making the crims work. No work, no privilages, no arguement about it. No doubt the do gooders would complain that the poor little crims are being exploited but what the he l l, do the crime, do the time and pay your own way I say.

Believe none of what you hear from these politicians and only half of what you see, and you may be close to what is happening, or going to happen. They will do what they want, when they want, once they get into power and you and I won't mean a thing to any of them once your vote is cast. Its their way of reshuffling the who gets how much and who gets less of the taxpayers dollar.

Mardale. Nice one! For the reccord, "we" didnt lost the election in 2005. Nat got more votes than any other.. Winston is a little turn coat gerbal shagging liar, but hey, that's the downside of MMP. I persoanlly am not arrogant, but you took the bait and showed your colours. Red..and angry. LOL

My colours are black and white actually but I note that like most national party supporters you have to play the man not the ball. Typical. With regard to your guys inability to work under an MMP system - again - when you are so up yourselves that everyone should do what you tell them with no question that's what happens. Don't throw your toys out of the cot when you lose again guys. Keep talking - your true colours are showing!

Re:Life with no parole - NATIONAL Reply to this message
Both Labour and National have screwed this country up long enough. Neither of you actually give a damn about the majority of New Zealanders who have to keep adapting to your hairbrained schemes. Tell you what - you guys give up and let us sensible people run the country.

Re:Life with no parole - NATIONAL Reply to this message
If National was so sent on getting tough on crime how come they voted down the New Zealand First Bill to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 12 at select committee level - along with Labour I might add. Tough as a wet bus ticket but after your vote! Don't forget they voted FOR the anti-smacking bill as well - on mass. Yeah - they tough alright. Talk tough - nothing but hot air.

Re:Life with no parole - NATIONAL Reply to this message
Kiwiglen111 - you don't know what you are voting FOR! Our local national member along with several other national MP's voted FOR the prostitution law reform bill, National on mass voted FOR the anti-smacking law. Only seven MP's voted AGAINST the anti-smacking law and three of those were New Zealand First MP's with Winston being one of them. Stop believing everything you read in the papers and make an effort to find out for yourself. With regard to getting asked again New Zealand First has had a policy of binding referenda for the last 15 years - why don't you people inform yourselves??

dennes - yeah and your guy never owned transrail shares, he never met a billionaire and gave him lunch at home. And Nick Smith doesn't have a legal trust funds exactly the same. Typical one rule for you and one for everyone else. And again play the man not the ball.

Re:Life with no parole - NATIONAL Reply to this message
That's an understandable policy and I agreee with it in principle, but why are prisoners not given some help to reform when they indicate that they want out of the cycle of offending? Or even in the cases of criminals who have not asked for help, surely something could be done to give all prisoners a chance at rehabilitating themselves. I was in trouble myself many years ago, when I was a teenager. I managed to find my way out, but I had little help from the justice department and even now I find that the police are unable to accept the fact that I am rehabilitated, even though I have not offended for 24 years.

Re:Life with no parole - NATIONAL Reply to this message
Mardale. I know exactly what and who im voting for..

I onced asked Don Brash if he believed and would be up for implimenting binding refferendums, and he said yes..He spoke at a libertarian conference in AKL and was grilled by some of the harshest critics and he came out tops..

Helen was asked the same question and frankly said, only on my terms...The answer to me has the air of closet commie. I believe that Key has the same ideals as Brash, but with the leadership quality he did not possses. Labor and Nat have very close policies i agree, but i feel they are trying to give us a kiwis what we desire...

A classic Labour ideal is to lie year after year about tax cuts, but to bring in the working for families grants. WTF? So how many millions a year do you think that is??

Why not just cut tax for people who work harder so they can reap the benefiots of their labour..I personaaly have 5 children, our bank balance often reads 0. But i have never applied for the working for families top ups, as i don't believe in the system..

What happened to Don Brashs' policy then? Why could he not get it thru? Would the Nats have the same difficulties administering it? Just asking............

Life with no parol should be given to repeat offenders and many other sentences should be cummulative and not concurrent.
