I'm with you unclenana - I support no parole and accept it will cost more.
What price do we put on our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and childrens heads anyway...there is no price too great to help keep them safe by locking these types of offenders up longer - or indefinitely.
Law and Order has been and will always be one of my motivators when it comes to who I will vote for. |

well that was an interesting read.
Despite who wears what political party colours, I think we can all agree with the title of this post.
Life should mean just that, personally I don't believe in 3rd strike and you are in for ever. Murder/manslaughter/rape/ childabuse both sexual and physical should all be life terms with out ever getting a chance for parole. And I agree that they should be made to work for their upkeep, bring back prison chain gangs, get the prison gardens/farms up and running again, if these people want to eat then grow the food themselves.
Get the women in prison making the linen for the prisons and hospitals, set up laundrys in the prisons so they can launder hospital and prison linen.
Drink drivers, second chance only, then off to prison with a starting term of at least 2 years. |

John Key didn't remember meeting with them either until he was showed a photo of himself with three members! New Zealand First has a policy of the first $5200 tax free for everyone. Seems fairer than tax cuts for the rich don't you think? |

John Keys has just announced that under National the minimum sentence for parole while serving a life sentence is not going to apply anymore!
Life will mean just that, no allowances! about time!1 |

| we definitley need to keep the graham burtens of this world inside for life as he is a psychopath-meaning he has a personality disorder and shows no empathy or remorse for the victims of his crimes. i think most of the crimanals commint crime because they think its an easy way to get rich! and as for the murderers well some are sick and some are on drugs and bash someone who end up dying. some want to change but theres the 1 percent who never will. |

What the country needs is a party that will serve the justice that is needed and has the BALLS to implement the policies!! this government hasnt done that when it comes to crime! or am I just talking shyte!

I think that personality disorder would cover every murderer, rapist, child killer/ abuser.
To take a life would tell me that person has no empathy for people in general, if they did they wouldn't have killed them in the 1st place |

Mar, you and kiwiglen talk sense even ifit is in a round about way lol. Crims need to learn that there is no soft touch anymore but the judges have to learn to deal to these scumbags too. Lets face it, a lot of judges are soft touches when it comes to sentencing.
Years ago my brother was buying a burger at a burger bar after working til 1am. He never saw the guy that hit him and kicked the s h i t out of him with steel capped boots. The only thing that saved his life was the cop car sitting jst down the street and they saw the attack and got there double quck. I saw the police photo of my brother and would never have recognised him. Doctors said he was near death when he arrived at hospital. The dective on the case rang my brother after the court case (brother didn't have to bethere) and the D apoliged for the fact that the judge gave this scumbag only a $100 fine.
I had my cell phone stolen 2 years ago and the judge ordered $600 restitution and so far I have had on cheque for $7.45. Call those cases justicve? Go National. They will be getting my vote. |

I know what you mean, we had a family member stabbed to death three years ago, and the time did not fit the crime, and we unveil his headstone in Labour Weekend!
I have already had several rants about this on justice system threads before, and he was my older sisters son! and left behind children etc..his killer will be paroled in November! etc...etc...the dyk head! |

Sounds good 'pre-election' but NZ is always too soft and this will never come into being even if they are elected.... the media will air the softies continuously (the new age realization people heh heh)and they will knock it out of the park.
