"... morena dana
Good to have you back with your hopping along waewae.
My uncle 72 had both legs amped from the knees down and one wouldn't know it.

I am not into contention where facts are concerned.
They are white institutions for all who can learn under their rules and regulations......

FACTS ...they are run by Whites with a white kaupapa that includes the Maori Colleges within the white Universities ..."

Hey Alamein -

Looking forward to the day when I can stand upright and un-assissted ...

There can be no debating with you, I might argue that it is YOU who has been indoctrinated with the opinions you espouse ... You appear to be reasonably articulate, how did you become so?

'They are white institutions for all who can learn under their rules and regulations' ... Then by this statement are you suggesting that to learn under their rules and regulations, those who do so become less than they were before? Maybe even, less 'Maori'?

Wow, I wonder how the thousands from other cultures who are educated in New Zealand, also do so well feel about this revelation?

Dana

I prematurely posted my reply.

Secondly Alamein.
Teachers have close to 12 hours or more contact with children.
They are the educators, the bestfriend, the worst enemy, the confident, the punching bag,the one that get ignored.
For you to say that teachers underperform is a slap on the face to them.
I used to be a teacher but couldn't take the stress after 5 years on the job.
If you require my qualification details , you are most welcome to them.
They walk into those gates everyday btween 7.30/8 am and depending on the curriculum , they don't get to go home untill 5pm, only to be either marking work, writing reports
or attending yet another 'brilliant' board of educations workshop.
And out of all the teacher parent interveiws they have..out of a roll of 1000, you will only get somewhere between 40 maybe 50 parents show up.
The parents that don't show are the ones who do the most complaining when their kids fail.

ala the so-called white education system is a system that has grown out of the standards that the entire world has set. a nz degree that was not respected overseas would be next to useless. so it is not a whitey system it is a planet earth system which all nzers have access to and need to respect

Re:Maori activists on the warpath Reply to this message
the point isn't wether maori feel aggrieved or not, its the fact that these 'activists' have publicly stated their intention to invade high profile judges homes in protest. surely by even stating those intentions, they have broken a law?

Re:Maori activists on the warpath Reply to this message
But Jacq..when these standards were being set, whose tune were they set to??.....Case in Point..My darling is a highly qualified Opthamological Surgeon from the Ukraine, educated in Moscow. Didn't stand for squat in NZ. Where was the respect for her qualifications then...By your assertion then, would it be reasonable to infer that her degree standards were set by this 'planet earth system'...

Doesn't mean much really...It seems that doesn't matter what educational system is adhered to, they are all flawed to a degree (no pun intended)

What is educationtho'???.....I'm tertiary educated and presumably so are you.... I've actually learnt more from life!!!

jacquenoire; I think you will find that over the past 10yrs our standard of education has been diminished so it can accomodate those minority groups that have previously failed. Looks politically good if passing exams is made easier for those loud talking minorities. And it will get worse; just ask Pita Sharples.

the coq a doodle has risen, sleep well?

You got that wrong its a British Education System indoctrinated upon Maori from the day they slipped into the country.

If you trace all the English colonisations around the world without exception you will discover a universal truth.

Their system was to learn the lingo then indoctrinate the indigenous people to divide and conquer.

Dana kia kaha mo to waewae. Strength comes from within to walk unassisted. Watching my uncle... it was his stubborn strength from within that got him there.

The opinions, my friend are a culmination of walking in two worlds and learning from both as well as life skills.
It is life's skills where Ive learned the most, people on people.

Learning under a white umbrella one has to forsake the other to a certain degree. Yes there are thousands of other cultures who wont let go of their own culture. These are they who suffer the consequences for not conforming to a white formated expectation.

Gary there are a lot of manuals in the bin in my house too. My son once said to me that making mistakes is one way of learning how to use the PC. I was terrified the first time and got better at over coming the fear of wiping my stuff.... to later find it in the computer bin.

Re:Maori activists on the warpath Reply to this message
i agree caps but at the end of the day an engineer has to be able to build a bridge that won't fall down and a doctor has to be able to diagnose correctly and thus a world standard in learning is out there for all nations to attain. many people who find our education system alien to them have come here to be educated because they know they will have an internationally recognised degree. many maori have flourished under our nz system and work both here and abroad and it would be good if more maori could treat the free education system with the respect it deserves so that they can enjoy the benefits. in this day and age people can't really afford not to be educated if they are after an abundant life. mainstream is where the bucks are.
