| tu who cares whether it goes away or not. maori issues are just that, maori issues. not my problem. my life is busy, full and abundant. i don't have enough time to take too much of an interest in maori issues. i wish maori the best of luck with their efforts for compensation. as i have already stated the approx. 4 billion total settlement bill ($1,000 for every nzer)is insignificant and has no effect on my lifestyle. some maori and usually impoverished ones, spend a hell of a lot of time fighting for it and forget to get on with their own lives and thus stay in an impoverished state. the reality is, it will be decades before the settlements create enough wealth through tribal businesses before significant amounts get through to the iwi. some businesses that are entered into with settlement funds will go broke, because that's the way things are in the real world. |

| yes eatme $1,000 is a lot of money if you don't have it. however it is a relatively small one-off bill to honour the treaty, get it behind and move on with being one-nation. obviously eatme, these funds come from tax and those who are wealthy will contribute a lot more than those that aren't. |

Please go back & read your history books.
The treaty has been broken & not honoured by the Crown in most of the situations.
Also you have to remember that not all tribes signed the treaty & that also created a lot of the infighting amongst various tribes |

yeah jacquei -m that is why you are on here!
all treaty claims must refer a breach of treaty right in relation to to an act of parliament - legislation .
there is one act that has not yet been refered to in a treaty claim - the CRIMES ACT.
when a claim comes before the tribunal quoting the CRIMES ACT - the scenery will change quite drastically.
This has to do with every new zealander - as every new zealnader has benefitted from resources stolen from maori - and are still benefitting from those resources.
and most new zealanders are living on stolen lands - that is why it has to do with you jacqui - yuo are walking on it and in it every day - wherever you go - denial doesnt change that - nor does it make it go away - especially if you keep holding on to it - that which is stolen - there is only one way -
GIVE IT BACK!
so let me hear you say loud and clear " NO - ITS MINE - I WONT GIVE IT BACK !! "
and I will say NO IT ISNT YOURS - IT IS MINE - AND YOU WILL GIVE IT BACK !
now would you prefer that, or the treaty claims settlement proicess - which has been designed purely for you to keep the stolen goods for your good little innocent self !!
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE PORK AND PUHA !!
IT IS ON THE STOVE READY TO BE DISHED UP - AND THE ONLY ONES WHO AINT GOING TO GET FAT OFF IT IS MAORI !! |

| That's what you say tewhiro. But you were not there when it happened. You are just taking the "Maori is always right" side and going with it. Because you are Maori. Me pick crown side because I am just another kiwi like Maori will be one day. |

| unfortunately the poms are still doing what they do best, "divide and rule". maori would be a far more powerful force if they had settled as one race with one massive settlement. in 100 years time some tribes will be very wealthy because their tribal businesses that have arisen out of the settlements have grown and prospered and some tribes will be impoverished because their settlements invested into tribal businesses will fail and go broke. this is normal in the world of business. so some maori tribes and their people will end up higher class through their tribal success and other tribes and their peoples will end up lower class through their tribes business failings. this will create great friction between tribes. yep, maori should have settled as one people. |

| You say everyhting was stolen tu tanata. Does that include lands confiscated from those that said "fk the treaty lets crack some skulls?". I laugh when I think of that happening. And cannot believe you would even be so low as to try to ask for it back. |

and jacqui - the funds which will pay for your pardon comes from those resources stolen from maori - not from your taxes - it is maori who will pay the fine on your behalf -
non maori = WIN WIN !
MAORI = SMAE OL SAME OL !
ie the crown is going to pay maori with money earned from reaources stolen = SIMPLE
your tax dollars wouldnt buy the colonial blanket ! |

Vry
I dont agree with your statement that I take
""Maori is always right""
That is simply incorrect.......
History will show you that 9 out of 10 times it has been the Crown that has`nt honoured the treaty.
It is a very complex agreement the ToW, & Maoris argument always has been based on the Crowns failure to honour this contract.
It is because Maori always have to make a stand for their rights under this contract that has given us the label of shyte stirrers.
You & I have the right to make a stand if an agreement is not honoured, dont we?? |
