| We don't need this sort of person fronting on our TV shows. His appearance on TV tonight did not touch me at all. He did the crime and now he must face the consequences. Did he think paying her out would really keep it under raps? There are other people out there who can do his job just as good. Keep him off our screens. Violence is not acceptable whether you are under stress or pressure otherwise why have not we all done something like that. |

| nobodys perfect good on him for owning up to his responsibility and better still going to the lenghths to fix and sort both sides out.i do,nt condone women beating but none of us was there to witness the incident plus everyone deserves that second chance regardless.At least his got balls to admit his flawes let alone all those hundreds of cowards that currently still don,t.Yet they still get kicks out of the demining and beating the opposite sex. |

Ggggeeeezuzz look at the feminists line up....I don't like the guy for a number of reasons. I like him even less for what he has done......but, it takes two to make a deal that is honoured and she grabbed the dosh and shut up....so who is going to lay charges?
While we are on about openness....how will Helen get on when it comes time to stand yet again.
She is a self confessed liar and cheat. Her cabinet is made up of very similar people...liars,drug users, drunk drivers, theives, cheats, deviants and even perverts (some of them though have been done away with I'll grant you that)....but she put them there.
So....where does our seemingly selective morality start and finish? |

| By now every one should have watched the news and have seen Tony apologise and talk very nicely about his ex. He has made a change by admitting guilt, not excusing himself and getting the help that was required without being pushed by the authorities. Well done Tony. I say this as I truely know what it is like to live with domestic violence and he is not of the same calibre as a true violent person. Yes he lost the plot however he got it sorted which is more than can be said about the real perpetrators, they keep going until they kill. |

Even if he didn't do this...and we all now know that he did...he is still a c . o. c. k..y, gobby little p.r.i.c.k. quick to jump on others who have moved too far from the accepted path...that hipocracy to me, is too bloody much.
He has also given encouragement to half of the number 1 cut feminist flakes of this world who push the battered women front. I wonder too, if many have taken the time to view the battered male side of the argument. Of femmedom....of the raw and ugly b.i.t.c.h.e.s. that abuse their spouces as well as their children.
How many for instance, yet realise, that women have killed more infants and children in this country, than have men......did you know that? |

This is BS.
Yes he messed up and I agree that its a serious matter.
However there are thousands of men who do this every day both here in NZ and around the world. Where is the public outcry against them? |

Leave the guy alone, he made a mistake, albeit a bad one. He took steps to make amends himself, he then undertook council of his own accord to ensure it does not happen again! What would you have done in his position after the event.....?
Why do you people not get out and make your own lives better rather than sit on here complaining about other people and events that you have no business in! You should all be ashamed of yourselves! Focus your attention on things that you can make a difference in! |

| well for a while there on that game of two halves,he was always talking so fast you couldn't understand a word he was saying..gave up watching because of it..just blah blah blah non stop.just non sense.and that was around the same time some of his co-stars were looking a bit skinny and hyped up around the edges.! |

| dude, he beat his ex up and she ended up in hospital, i wouldn't put myself in that position and he didn't have to have 2 jobs, he was earning plenty at tvnz, he wasn't working at pak n save! |

| I say she deserved the money...she lost so much money and what she went through....he paid her guilt money...now he MUST face the consequences of his actions like any one else should...just because it happened 2 years ago does not make it any reason not to make him accountable... remember the priests. | I agree domestic vilolence is deplorable, there is never an excuse but Tony has bought some publicity to this problem. This abuse can prevail in our communities due to the secrecy surrounding it and the fact these people become so isolated by their abuser. I hope he has got the counselling he says he had and I believe if he can face up the the public then maybe more positives can come from this. The truth is we only know about this because someone leaked it to the media but the truth is you wouldn't know who you come aross in everyday life is actually going home and abusing their partner we all need to be more proactive and involved to stop this. |

| I totally agree, they have a private agreement between them how is it any of our business.. How many people do we watch on tv and that are in the media that we dont no what they are doing behind closed doors.. give the man a break, he may have been provoked aswell how do we no what happened, we werent a fly on the wall..Hes rebuilding his life as so is his ex.. GET OVER IT NEW ZEALAND and worry about bigger issues then this.. |

He paid a lot more than any court would have ordered him to and we all know he would have never have gone to prison for a first offence.
Those of you who want to see him punished some more should take a long look at your own lives. You need to understand what genuine remorse is and when forgiveness is appropriate.
If an ex partner came around to your place when you were depressed and an arguement occurred, what would you all really do? This is human emotion we are dealing with here, it is never rational whether in or out of love and we all say or do things that we regret from time to time. This guy has the balls to front on prime TV and admit he was wrong. Most of you people do not have the balls to put your real names to your replies on this message board which tells me you don't believe what you have written and would not stand up for what is really right.
