| unfortunately club, just because there are rumours, and something in the press doesnt necessarily make it factual. Heresay, gossip, done prove fact |

| You missed my point j.holmwood. The rumours have proven to be factual, but only with the passage of time. You see time is the only way that the truth can be revealed sometimes. In this case the heresay and the gossip have proven to be fact. |

| What do you mean, leaked? This story has been unravelling itself since it started. Good investigative journalism has revealed the truth of this matter once again. Ring the Dominion Post, they printed the story and what a story it's been. |

Just want to comment on the numerous remarks on this thread that Tony Veitch was 'gutless' or 'cowardly' in not coming out about this for over 2 years. Duh! There was a CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT in place, and while I am sure that benefitted him, the victim was/is reasonably high profile as well and it would also have benefitted her to not have her name dragged through the media.
I have also read comments saying the victim is now in breach of contract for leaking this. Your investigative skills must be great for you to know who leaked the story. Please enlighten us. To quote Tui Breweries, Yeah Right! |

| Regardless of any confidentiality agreement being in place, wasn't a crime committed first? What other crimes can you think of that would be acceptable to have confidentiality agreements written for? Please.... |

| I havent missed your point, the only fact we know is that something took place, unless you were there it is impossible to know what is factual and what is not. Don't get me wrong, what happened is disgraceful, but if you read my earlier post, you need to take emotion out of the equation. Two adults involved in an incident, they mutually agreed on the course of action. The victim had choices, lay a complaint or accept compensation, she made her choice, my personal opinion is that is was not the best choice, however it was HER choice. |

| Club, how do you know a crime was committed. He has admitted to 'lashing out'. It may be a stretch of the imagination, but he may have swung a fist at her, missed, but made her reel back in fright and she actually fell down the stairs. That could be described as lashing out and there is no crime of attempted assault. He is innocent until proven guilty. It is the basis of our legal system. |

| Actually there are other facts, like Kristin sustained 4 broken vertebrae, was wheelchair bound and suffered mental problems as a result of her injuries as reported in the press. These facts haven't been disputed by any parties yet and Tony did state in his press statement that he lashed out in anger. |

I have a very sporty son. He has been racing Motocross bikes for 10years. Has won NZ titles. He has had a few injuries because he's usually out front. He injured his back crushing 2 vertebrae. He was in agony. He was travelling at speed when he overjumped and flat landed a large jump. Some serious fecal matter went down for Tony's ex to break 4 vertebrae.
Violence is not acceptable.
If Tony stays on Tv and his news stories are about violence I will change the channel.
Some-one is obviously pissed off with him to expose his dirty laundry. After all it has been between Tony and his Ex all this time, Why bring it up now?
I don't think much of people that say one thing and do another.
If Tony was an all black his name would be suppressed for bashing his ex, He would also get diversions for traffic offences on and on it goes. |

Seems to be a THug & then tried to pay Hush Money.
Head in stocks & Cat of Nine Tales for him.
Totally indefensible !!
If as was reported that he conspired with the victim to fabricate the reason for her injuries, to ACC., ie. she fell down stairs, then it appears that both parties may be guilty of a breach of section 119(c) of the ACC Act 1982. &, if unfortunately she lodged a claim stating that same reason, she may be guilty of a breach of Section 119(b) of the same Act. |

| I don't really think that people not watching TVNZ is gonna pressure them to sack him. I'm sure they are big enough to make up their own minds. And I'm sure that if you look at all the presenters on all the stations, there are other people out there who have done wrong that are still on TV. Do you think they should have lost their jobs as well and that those stations should have be boycotted too? If that were the case - there would be no television to watch! |

You can't sack a guy for making a mistake in his personal life/personal time.
Does someone who leaves their kid alone get the sack because of it.... or someone who drinks and drives once..... or a repeat speedster.... Leave the guy alone and mind your own business. |

| rufjak....if tvnz do sack him will that make you happy? Really will it? Will you be content with that? Or would you then move on to another phase of punishment? I can hear the wood being chopped up now...maybe you'll be happy once he's been burnt at the stake....there's really only one person in all of this that needs to be satisfied and that is his victim...seems she didn't want him burnt at the stake. Be honest you wont be happy with any outcome here. |

| Hey colevnz, it is none of his employers business or ours what he did. She never made a complaint and took his money. If he is sacked I hope he takes a wrongful dismisal case against TVNZ and Radio NZ. |

| i want him in jail. i want the lifers to have free access to him in the showers, and then give him the same as he gave his ex. I would then like them to 'convince' him to lie about it so they dont lose privileges. |

| and would you be happy? truely happy? I think not...you'd be on to your next rant and rave to make you feel good...Seems you contradict your morals on one hand you'd like to string a man up for committing a crime but then sit back and buy a ticket to watch a crime committed on him...can you make up your mind...your sad and the only way you can feel good is to watch other people being brought down to your level. |
