This whole Tony Veitch saga resembles more of a witch hunt by feminists led by the Womans refuge spokesperson Heather "Jabba the Hutt" Henare. Surely there are much more worthier news stories to focus so much media attention on.
To bad Tony Veitch isn't an all black winger. If he was he'd get months of name suppression and he'd still get to play on the weekend. |

Tony Veitch reads the sports news he's not the prime minister. As long as he does his job well, I couldnt give one s**t what he does in his personal life, he could be a convicted killer for all i care.
People need to start minding their own business.

| Finally someone with a few clues. Always two sides to a story. With no complaint and no real evidential value from the public domain one has to ask themselves why the Police are"investigating" this. If it were you or I it would be rubber stamped by now. 2 1/2 years ago and a privately agreed settlement. Makes you wonder who leaked it and the reason for it. Move on |

she took the money and didnt report him so maybe she goaded him into loosing his cool if you have been in a similar situation you may understand just how awful people can be to one another

| For the record I watch the news because I want to find out about world/national NEWS, I don't watch it because I like the guy who reads it, same with the sports, I want to hear about SPORTS. At 7pm I don't turn to my partner and say hey that was a great news hour and what a pretty tie that presenter was wearing - shame he was hanging from the studio ceiling by it.... |

ACC IS obliged to pay out for any accident but you are also asked to sign agreeing that the injury happened the way you described it. Anything else is obtaining money by deception.
I hope the authorities and media are pursuing this with the vigour they are investigating Tony Veitch. As a taxpaper, I demand she pay this money back !! |

| Well, let me see. I rob a bank, stab a teller.The bank is worried that it affects badly their ability to attract staff. They get a PI, track me down and say "pay the money back plus the teller 100K, n we all shut up?" DO I have a responsibility still to the law? Yes I do. TV's apology was theater, hadn't he be sprung we wouldn't have known. like the bank example; covering its' butt. He still committed a very serious assault, n you can't buy your way out of a crime. Or can you? Anyone who says it isn't their business has no business being a citizen. Not because he's a talking-head, but because this is a very serious crime. Don't sack him, prosecute him as anyone else would be prosecuted, hush-money or not. And make the punishment fitting. ANd forget about the perp becoming the spokesman for Anti Domestic Violence. What a gig! I wonder what his fee will be? As for the cause?.. celebrity breeds a certain conceipt that becomes a contemptuous beleif that one is untouchable. I pity you Veitchie,for the self love you suffer. And as for the "reason" of two jobs/great stress/low point of life? Er... get a grip... you sit in front of a camera and talk. Then you swan around the Viaduct (or did). You don't go home to screaming kids. You don't go home to bills to the ceiling because your wage packet doesn't fit the heating and rent. You're bright and talented for sure... but "Stress" ? I don't think you actually know what stress is. You only know yourself, and very well I'd care to remark, judging by that measured Shakespearean pile you played out to the nation. We know you meant it, or something like it; "I'm very sorry"(I got sprung). Stress?...well, don't pull that card on us mate. It's even bigger BS than it is PR. |

| What do you mean "No Stress" He must have been stressed to the max ( or should have been )wondering if it would ever come out.He's been a bad boy!He may have paid her wages but now he has to pay the real cost.He needs to fall on his sword. I feel certain no decent person wants to see his face on TV any longer. Of course I may be wrong, but I know what will be going through "my" mind every time I see him now. He is certainly no role model. Don't waste our taxes on prosecution, just get rid of him. |
