Yahoo news....Another 78 diagnosed with HIV.
Sexual contact remains the most common way HIV is caught in New Zealand.
The latest update from the AIDS Epidemiology Group at the Dunedin School of Medicine shows 78 people were diagnosed with HIV in the first half of this year.
Thirty-six of those were men infected through sex with other men, but only 26 of those were infected in New Zealand.
Twenty-nine people were infected through heterosexual contact, and 14 of those infections occurred here.
Four people reported being infected by injecting drug use, and for nine people the means of infection is unknown.
Men having sex with other men, is the main cause,and interesting that, 26 were infected outside of NZ,and alowed in, do our politicians really give a stuff about our health ?. |

Wasnt it, the Europeans, Capt Abel Tasman, Capt Cook et al as migrants to these shores, who brought sex orientated diseases of gonorrhea, syphilis and venereal.
Not to mention fleas and tics.... known carriers of other diseases!
The world has shrunk and today its international travelers who bring back new diseases! |
