Prior to WWII, passports were not required.
Passports always were an anomaly of war time; it was to specifically allow for safe passage during war time ... not at times of peace.
Introduced during WWII, they simply 'forgot' to rescind the need for them once WWII was over.
Is the concept of passports abhorrent?
Are they slave papers in design, slave papers in actuality?
What will happen if you try leaving the plantation without the masters permission?
... and if you do, you'll be returned to your master for a right ol' whipping, when the hounds and the guards round your bad ass up!
Why?
What was your heinous crime?
Travelling without your slave papers!
OH MY GOD ... the horror of it all ... travelling without your slave papers?

Typical garbage.
...heck let's do away with ownership papers as that makes us slaves...no more car registration papers...no more licence either as by jingoes that has a photo!!!...let's eradicate all big brother stuff...no more taxes...no more gun licences...stuff warrant of fitness...medical records can go too as that's private...stuff birth certificates too as that's nobodies business who you are...forget university degrees too as just another slavish paper...

Passports of sorts have been around for a long long time not just after WW2 . Travel documents granting safe passage were there origins.
Slave papers nah I don't think so. |

Slave papers were an internal form of travel document used in the USA in the main.
Slaves borrowed them to flee to a free state posting them back after.... the danger was in getting caught, not only for the escapee but the one whose papers they were! |
