carl_cooke2001,
I can tell you a true story about the results of the Savage government. It effects me to this very day in fact.
In 1934 my grandfather owned a small grocery business in Auckland. It was run by my Grandfather with one employee and some family help.
At that time, my father was 14 years old attending Auckland Grammer.
Also at this time the great economic depression was at its height.
Michael Savage introduced the minimum wage that year.
The result was that my Grandfather could not afford to retain the employee, (who by the way was very happy to have a job at all at that time.)
My grandfather in order to survive in his business, had to to terminate the employee and take my father out of school (permanently as it turned out) in order to cover the duties of the employee.
This of course effected my Father's education whch in turn effected his future family including me.
This would not have been an isolated incident. Do you think this was a good and smart policy from the Savage government?
Has the current government learnt anything at all? |

Wow, well there is one thing about Helen Clark, She is loyal IF IT IS TO HER ADVANTAGE!
She sure kept mum about Winstons receipt of the $100,000.
Wish Owen Glen would send me some money, at least I wouldn't cause a political storm:)
Like John Key says, she should put principles before power!
Good one John, you have hit the nail on the head at last! |

So who would be the Leader of the Labour Party in opposition next year?
Clark has dropped all her MP's in it and made them look REAL dumb supporting Winston while she said nothing, yet knew everything.
They will even the score the only way they can, from the bitter benches of opposition. |

| All the government has been doing is supporting Peters in his ministerial role I have seen anywhere that they have supported him personally-- there is a difference. |

Yes, I trust Helen Clark. Over the past nine years she has stood by her ministers whatever. She always believe a person is innocent until proven guilty. Winston has done some good thing for NZ especially as foreign minister. There is a lot more to this, it is like a political assassination. The extremes that the big boys are going to to get into power, a bit like USA. I feel safer for our country with Helen in charge than John Keys.
It is quite scary to think what will happen if he gets the reigns. |

price rises
..Food
..petrol
other commodities.Everything is spiralling out of control
Are the wages rising sufficiently to keep up.
Are benefits being increased sufficiently.
Helen Clark in the end is accountable... |

| Gam, I know what your saying prices are dreadful, but they are like that all over the world.I really feel that this government has done it's best, with this recession the economy is much more stable than it would under have been with National. We will come out of it much quicker than most. You cannot please everyone it's like running a family budget you cannot keep giving to everyone who holds out their hand & put it on plastic to pay the bills. |

Think out of the square..Larryburke..
The Labour party that our parents and grandparents use to vote for is no longer the same..
I was a Labour voter for a long time..but in the last 9 years you actually can see things shifting and it is not nice... |

If you are on the benefit because you have no desire to work then yes National is likely to screw you. It's easy to pick out the staunch Labour supporters on here.
The hard workers will end up voting National as Helen has let down the workers who voted her in for the last nine years. |

Tobea,
We don't all have to be on a benefit to support Labour
I have never been on a benefit, am now on a super. but still working part time & paying taxes. I work part time to keep myself young & help provide some extras for my granchildren. |
