Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
I hear ya, ive got 5..And i guess these days people are more switched on..Unfortunaetly you've got to know where they are at all times, pick up,drop off...It's a bloody shame..The biggest shame is that there a few males in the preschool field anymore, and pre schoolers love that male influence. The good ones have been scared off..Also the good scout and brownie leaders probably get put through the rack on a daily basis, so the bad apples have spoiled the possibility of haveing good role models out there for our young...

Have you been to Vatican. Those so called rooms were used in the war.
They have a beautiful Chapel with beautiful paintings. Vatican is worth a visit.
No rituals as you suggest are in those rooms. You have a one track mine. Wonder what you are?..

shmeads. No not brainwashed. No not a catholic. Just stating a fact that the catholic church is not the only church with molesters. The church I was bought up in was. He was put in jail. Just letting you know you seem to be getting into them. You should visit the vatican, truely I was so impressed.

I wonder how much the paintings cost. You know Benny hinn, Joyce Myers,Creflo Dollar Brian Tamaki ...the media ,public..world..all wants to know about their money..whether they are ripping the people off etc..everyone wants them to be transparent..and they have done that..what makes the pope so different..

The Anglican church,Mehodist church Catholic church..., etc.these ones just have assets..Sometime I think that these one display a false humility that looks good, sounds good, acts good while self indulging.. Am I going to be hammered

Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
What do you have in Italy?> Italians are all staunch catholic, thats where there money goes. And maybe the Mafia. are behind a lot of it too. You dont see that kind of wealth in other countries with catholic churches. The money that is taken in the service goes back into the parishioners, schools, keeping up the church and the priests homes and there cost of living. Other money does go to charity such as world visions etc.
Also you mentioned Benny Hinn, now tell me who is he and why is he on a pedestal and have such a lot of people chasing him.

Yes! I would have to agree that I was raised in a strict Catholic upbringing. However, I felt I was brain-washed to think Catholicism was the ONLY and RESPECTED religion that God approved. I felt that was wrong and I also felt that the Pope shouldn't be put up on that pedestal he's on...we were taught to worship him like we do Jesus Christ but the fact is that the Pope is nothing more than a commoner...he is not divine.

Leave the pope alone, at least this one doesn't get off the plane and start smooching the tarmac, like the last one.

Why pick on the Pope, would you say the same thing about Muslims? Or even dare to be critical about their beliefs?

Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
I guess the point here if one is reading all the postings...is that church hierrachy ...(not ordinary church people)... are coming under scrutiny by the media about what or how they are specifically spending the money coming from their members...nice car, house, overseas trips, etc, etc. but somehow the Pope seem to be immune from this..(Getting back to the subject matter).I know about the missionary ,charity work that is done, not just by the Catholic Church but by every other church including those with nice houses, cars etc etc.

Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
The Evangelical, pentacostal and charismatic church Hierrachy that seem to have step out of the Religous box into the water putting the bible to the test and encouraging their members to do like wise, have tried and tested the word.If the pope died tomorrow HE WILL BE REPLACED BY ANOTHER POPE ALL IN THE NAME OF TRADITION.What if he was no longer required to be in that position ..as a catholic would that matter to you ..could you carry on.. without a pope. I think I can say...YES...YES...

xtr670031@xtra.co.nz - You asked "Why pick on the Pope, would you say the same thing about Muslims? Or even dare to be critical about their beliefs?"

Bloody good question. Personally I wouldn't. For one thing they don't seem to have the equivalent of a pope. For another while it seems to be free reign in NZ to rubbish Christians, it sure aint to rubbish other religions. And I don't know too many Christians who fly planes into buildings and blow up embassies, trains and buses etc, but I've heard of a few muslims who do and I really don't want to encourage them to do it here, so I wouldn't criticise their religion.

Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
xtra670, yes i can because did you know, the burqa, or headcovering isn't even a requirement in the koran, you would be blown away to know what has been added by the men of modern in islam, would make you look at it a lot differently, woman weren't meant to be suppresses/oppressed like they are today, if interested there are books that will tell you what isn't actually islam that is getting practised today, so yes i am not afraid to say i don't like what religions do to people, and thout shalt not idolise, so why idolise the pope or any other so called leader, none of that shyte does anything for me so i don't buy into it, would probably send me insane believing in the invisible!!

Re:Status of the Pope Reply to this message
it shouldn't take a pope for you to believe in your catholicsm, and like someone said, why support someone who was in the hitler youth movement, i doubt that was a catholic thing to do was it?! so, obviously he hasn't been a religious man all his life?
