What amused me recently about the pope was him telling the youth to reject and turn away from materialism. He then got driven to the airport in his chauffeur driven limousine and flew out first class to the Vatican to his vast apartment. Imagine how many poverty stricken catholics could be fed and housed if the Vatican turned its back on materialism. I find it more than a little amusing. Then we have Brazil...predominantly Catholic. Huge amount of poverty, corruption, violence and crime of all descriptions. Argentina...same again, and Chile and so it goes on. As has already been stated here I find their assertion to be the only true religion and their God to be the one true god to be arrogant and presumptive not to mention insulting to other religions and beliefs. I am glad of my own more considerate, tolerant spirituality. They are scratching for membership with all the abuse cases and they have had to pay out the largest compensation package for abuse in history.I cannot see them recovering from the damage their church has suffered.
