A question, what do you know about this topic.
Personally, I do not agree with it because it basically implies that one race is more superior than another, history already documents facts that a certain form of social engineering has already had serious ramifications.
What do you think? |

| all i know is selective breeding occurs naturally anyway, the female chooses her mate based on certain male characteristics ie: physical appearance, strength, domination etc, its been that way for millenia. Survival of the fittest isnt it. Any other form of breeding opens up a pandoras box. |

Its great to see you have expanding on the topic of eugenics I raised in other threads.
The eleventh edition of The Encyclopaedia Britannica defines eugenics as - the organic betterment of the race through wise application of the laws of heredity. - Most people draw a blank when they hear the word eugenics, or it conjures up images of swastikas and jack-booted N.a.z.i.s. But eugenics has had a long history, extending back to ancient Rome and beyond.
One way to look at the relationship between intelligence and civilization is to investigate ancient civilizations, studying why they rose, and why they fell. But a far more straightforward approach would be to simply look around us, and to survey the various countries of the world. Today, in 2008, there are countless gradations of civilization all over the globe. *** an has a higher average IQ than America, Mexico has a lower one, and the black African nations have the lowest.
Its obvious to any casual observer that correlations exist between poor environments and pathologies of various sorts. But correlation does not prove causation! Roosters crow at sunrise. Does this mean roosters cause the sun to rise? If poverty actually causes crime, shouldnt the crime rate have increased astronomically during The Great Depression? Well, it didnt. Reproductive patterns of each generation shape the innate character of successive generations, whether for better, or for worse. Hence IQ has a greater affect on the success or failure of a people than anything else. Eugenics is simply the mixing of genes of one race with another, over time, ideally for the betterment of the lesser races. This is why I support the mass import of Asians to NZ, to help offset the brain drain and subsequent dumbing down of our nations gene pool that has occurred as a result. |

| SADLY I CANT SEE MANY ASIANS INTERMARRYING WITH EUROPEAN NEW ZEALANDERS OR MAORI FOR THAT MATTER SO YOUR THEORY OF THEM INCREASING OUR IQ AND GENE POOL IS PRETTY FLAWED ID SAY, HENCE I AM AGAINST THEIR MIGRATION HERE AND NOT ON RACIAL ISSUES EITHER, I PERSONALLY BELIEVE NZ HAS ENOUGH PEOPLE WITHIN ITS SHORES WITHOUT OVER-RUNNING IT WITH MIGRANTS. |

If NZers where more excepting of Asians being here, the Asians probably would intermarry with us NZers a lot more. I know of lots of NZers who have Asian partners who seem to get on quite well together. Race is not an issue for them. |

Race is not an issue for anyone "in love" I guess and as they say, fresh genes will increase the IQ - this is especially true in a country with a small population such as New Zealand, where, if we became isolated from the rest of the world, we would interbreed more and more and become sillier and sillier! ( as has been observed in small "alternative" communal groups).
Also the effects of indiscriminate breeding such as the sixties onwards "sexual revolution" are beginning to show up today as genetic problems.
However, this all has to be balanced against the effect of different cultures,(or political bullies using culture to get their desired results) all clamouring for domination, the winner making one or more of the established cultures become second class citizens - and that could happen very easily and very quickly indeed in this small island nation....again!!. |

eugenics is good. ever noticed how some families are afflicted with a variety of terrible illness? mums half blind and has learning disability, dad has glasses 10 cm thick and a heart murmer, then one of their kids develops a cancer, or a brain tumor. Its no coincidence. i know it sounds t.w.a.t.ish, and i truley dont mean to be heartless, but it is a simple fact, genes and medical historys matter in relation to the physical and mental health of your offspring.
We all practice it on a subtle level anyway. who you fall in love with often has to do with pyhsical attributes, or good character, or intellegance..whatever it is deep down that you desire, covet and would like your children to possess.
P.S..in no way am i suggesting that if someones child gets cancer its the parents fault, it can happen to anyone. im simply saying that the instances seem to be higher infamiles where you have generations with various illnesses and disorders. |

We are already doing it by inviting the Asians to live here to replace all the brainy NZers who have left for overseas, We can only hope they interbreed with some of those NZers of lesser IQ who chose to stay here.
If so, the resulting offspring will not necessarily be born quite as clever as their Asian parent is, but will probably be born more clever than the average lesser IQ person the Asian parent had their choice to interbreed with. Inherited IQ works similar to how inherited colour works. I e. In cows, black and brown pelt colours generally dominate over white pelt, the same as skin colours do in humans, hence the genetic introduction of a higher IQ is more likely to result in brainier kids than the parent with the lesser IQ has.
IQ has nothing to do with education perse. IQ is not taught. Intelligence Quota is the inherited ability to solve problems. Social responsibility is more to do with who our parents invite to the kitchen table, which is another matter, though it does have some bearing on who are parents are, and who they choose to socialise with. Hope thats been of some help. |

Positive eugenics is aimed to encourage reproduction among the genetically advantaged. Possible approaches include financial and political stimuli, targeted demographic analyses, in vitro fertilization, egg transplants, and cloning.
Negative eugenics is aimed at lowering fertility among the genetically disadvantaged. This includes abortions, sterilization, and other methods of family planning.
Mandatory eugenics or authoritarian eugenics, in which the government mandates a eugenics program. Policies and/or legislation is often seen as being coercive and restrictive.
Promotional voluntary eugenics, in which eugenics is voluntarily practiced and promoted to the general population, but not officially mandated. This is a form of non-state enforced eugenics, using a liberal or democratic approach, which can mostly be seen in the 1900s. (which is what I see is happening with the advent of the multi cultural NZ we have today)
Private eugenics, which is practiced voluntarily by individuals and groups, but not promoted to the general population.
Just why so many people are afraid of the term Eugenics I am not so sure. Afraid of what they dont know I about I suspect. Google has heaps on the subject for anyone interested in it. Makes ya think abit. |

I would say (by your name) that your heritage (also my heritage) or the heritage of your spouse maybe, stems from a certain island whose population was depleted by a (natural?) diaster, and in CERTAIN AREAS, severely depleted, causing inbreeding and many of the associated problems mentioned here.
Happily this seems to have resolved itself, but I think that at one stage it was a severe problem, although the problem of alcoholism is still present, I don't know if this is due to breeding but it could be.
I would say that the stigma against Eugenics (especially amongst Europeans) was caused by Hitler and his N a z i breeding programme.
We, whether we believe in it or not, were kept in check to a certain degree by Christianity, just as people in other countries are by their religious beliefs ie. through marriage which keeps a record of who is who, which in turn leads to better breeding.
Some people point out that animal breeders use interbreeding to produce superior animals and this is true eg. in the case of racehorses, and they sometimes h i t the jackpot! - but.... they discard the bad results and do not let them breed, or they destroy them !!
Unlike us humans who will still carry on breeding indiscriminately, damaging the species!
(PS. - seems the word h i t is now a swearword !!!) |

| not all the bad breeds are discarded or destroyed, i.e, pitbull being perfect example. alcoholism from studies can be a hereditry thing, seems too late to have eugenics happening here to rid our society of the scum that live in it, and if it ever happened it wouldn't be in my lifetime so don't have to worry, just make sure the kids meet the right one!!!! |
