Flyasub - you better be in bed, boyo. You know what you get like if you haven't had your sleep - just read what you've been writing! And turn that bloody computer off. And the light. And if I have to tell you again you get no breakfast for 3 days.

Wasullivan:

good morning, and thank you for taking the time out to explain your thoughts in regards to Eugenics.
"Most people draw a blank??", this might question your own logic and level of intelligence, however it is only one of your quotes.

You indicated on other posts that "dumb" and "lack of knowlege and intelligence", could be the reason why Helen Clark allowed Chinese to come into New Zealand, to maybe dilute the New Zealand gene Pool. Of course without a doubt the chinese, let alone the asians are an intelligent people. There are other intelligent cultures too Wasullivan, that live in this country.

It is offensive to me as a New Zealander to read that you refer to this country as a "cabbage patch" and that the chinese would be able to cure the brain drain here. If the chinese were able to do this Wasullivan, why have they not been able to cure their own countrys ailments?

Quite obvious really dont you think? They have a lot to offer here, and so do many other cultures. People who marry other people etc, would naturally dilute their own gene pool through natural selection and Love.

As I already stated when starting the post, it is what other people think about Eugenics as well. It is great to see that you have read the Encyclopaedia Britannica, it is always great to share knowledge, that is how we learn, from books and other people. People are great Wasullivan.

MARJ
You,have a lot of valid points there (and so does Sullivan).

As for most people drawing a blank - well, most people don't think that deeply full stop! - to be honest I think that just a few "oddballs" (like ourselves) find this sort of stuff deeply interesting!.

Quote, ["It is offensive to me as a New Zealander that you refer to this country as a "cabbage patch"].
Sullivan also has a point here, but he? (she?) is criticised for referring to this country as a "cabbage patch".
When you look at some of the threads here, don't you sometimes wonder?

In the statement you made,
Quote,- ["If the chinese were able to do this, why have they not been able to cure their own countries' ailments?"]

Also a very valid point, - I think that here and in other countries we tend to get the more academic people from Asia/China, India, Middle East, Eastern Europe etc, who work hard in the learning department and do well.
This gives us the feeling that they are exceptionally clever people as a whole, - they may be, but they are the "creme de la creme" of their society, not a typical cross section.
They are looking for the chance to better themselves and therfore are highly motivated to do so - they are a good example to us all!

As a guy I used to work with bluntly put it, " I bet their PEASANTS are as thick as pig s h i t !"

Oh, and you'll have to forgive me (and haul me up) if I make the odd incorrect statement, - I haven't resorted to Google or the Oxford Dictionary as yet (nothing wrong with that though).- just some of my own thoughts which are always open to sensible contradiction!

- and yes, there a lot of very clever Kiwis still left who have the good sense not to get embroiled in these threads!

instead of inter breeding, why not just have Asian Teachers??? They've obviously got the brains and IQ. Teach the students.. share their knowledge.

NODDY, you're awake! - must be a rare breed indeed indeed - we've had quite a bit of input (offput if you ask me!) from you, but nothing on EUGENICS, so let's hear something meaningful from you! - if you can't do that, I've just been dying to say this, (should I ?), yes, why not,- "piss off Noddy".

Eugenics in various forms has been around since 1883, very complex issue fraught with controversy.

It will be essential in any acceptable form to regulate the burdgeoning global overpopulation crisis.

PH,
Eugenics has been around since mankind stepped out of it's cave, letting the weak die off or killing them, - right up till modern times where we have lost the plot on any understanding of genetics where (in the so called developed world) it is a free for all.
Nature will then eventually have to take over and sort it out itself - at our expense!

PH,
Look,we might as well leave it to nature, - our ability to sort anything out has long gone ( probably through bad breeding, drugs, etc.etc.) but there will always be survivors from this mess (as there have been in past human disasters) - and this surviving stock will regenerate.

Probably FS.

C***roaches are hard to exterminate, but if an all out nuke *WMD* attack is imminent we will all be toast.

But like you say things just start again and regenerate.

Would like the world to change, but not holding my breath.

Re:EUGENICS? Selective breeding. Reply to this message
eugenics (u-jen´iks) the study and control of procreation as a means of improving hereditary characteristics of future generations. The concept has sometimes been used in a pseudoscientific way as an excuse for unethical, racist, or even genocidal practices such as involuntary sterilization or certain other practices in Hitler's Germany and elsewhere.

negative eugenics that concerned with prevention of reproduction by individuals considered to have inferior or undesirable traits.

positive eugenics that concerned with promotion of optimal mating and reproduction by individuals considered to have desirable or superior traits.

The problem with eugenics is that those who most favour it seem to be people like Joe Goebbels and Heinie Himmler.

Check out what they looked like and thought like.

But NODDY, you just copied and pasted the bits you wanted to see, from Google, (at least you are now trying).

Well, take a good look at the NZ news and see how we ended up (and we ignored Eugenics and everything else ), good look eh!

Maybe Big Ears has something more to add, better ask him.
