Re:sick of gangs Reply to this message
First off, i know people who tried the police, they came a week later. If this person had told me earlier i could have had their stuff back in an hour. I'm not recruiting, if my sons tried to join, i'd kill the Prez then the person trying to prospect them. The hood i live in is a Black Power strong hold. I haven't said anything doing any good in the hood, but for me, They kept me breathing.

Re:sick of gangs Reply to this message
The Mob where never a "White" gang. They started when a group of guys in Hasting (I think) were causing trouble & someone they were terrorising called them a bunch of Mongrels.

Um 3 white guys and one Maori appeared in the Wanganui court, and the judge told them they were nothing but a pack of mongrels. They went to Hastings or were from Hastings. Thier orignal patch was of booze been poured out of a gumboot. Fact not fiction.

After my grand parents died, i went trough a drug and alkohol phase. My boys, who are now patched members, got me out of that. And keep me from hurting my self and others.

I admire your tolerance & obvious decency, and I too think it's fantastic that some of the ex gang members have the guts to stand against what some of these morons stand for, but whilst I agree that some of these youngsters are indeed starved for love & affection, we can't let that deter us from the facts. Most gangs are formed for one reason and thats profit based on intimidation and thuggery.
Where I come from you cant even wear football colors in the local pub or even in public, and by that I mean soccer..lol, but all jest aside there is good reason for that because as much as I love football, I understand that there will always be tension when it comes to rival teams.
Some of these so called loved starved kids come from loving parents with decent morals, and yet that said, I have seen some of these idiots go to church on Sunday and come Monday they are up on charges for producing P to sell to our kids in school, that makes me want to hurl chunks at their Hypocrisy!
I personally cannot stand their barbaric ethics, their ludicrous idea of what is Honourable and last but by no means least the fact that they cover their faces every time they are on the TV, it proves their fear & shame. If they are so proud of their patches why not show their faces too, or is that stating the obvious?
I believe in second chances, but every time I read the paper or watch the news, all I hear and see is the same story over and over, child dies in gang shoot out, gang member charged with gun possession, gang members in court on P production.
If the cops can't deal with them, then send in the SAS to take them out. NZ doesn't need this, help those that want to help themselves, and as for the rest? Well I have my opinions but I doubt they would be allowed to read them here.

paulasholden@xtra.co.nz During the vietnam war a certain American motorcycle club offered to send some of its members to go and get behind enemy lines and do as much damage as they could. The U.S. president at the time turned them down.

thereaper_91,You really need to learn what research is,An old saying "It's better to be thought a FOOL, Than to open your mouth and remove all DOUBT!"The MOB was( as stated earlier) Originated in Hastings by a group of Maori Boy's , White power had NOTHING to do with it They adopted the German symbols and greetings because it made the feel tough and showed the antisocial manner and because, Like all gangs they wanted to copy American gangs

WHo cares where they came from, where is New Zealand going to with them? And any useful suggestions? How anout pay more taxes directly to instal proper rehabilitation during prison terms. They were brainwashed to think one way, how about making an attempt to correct their thinking? So their emotions no longer affect the rest of us?

Re:sick of gangs Reply to this message
a friend of mine from america recently pointed out to me that we give gangs too much publicity. he said that if a man was arrested in the states he would not be identified as a gang member (and the gang name certainly wouldn't be mentioned) in the media. i think we need to crack down harder on them but also stop making them "famous" by saying a mongrel mob member this and a black power member that... what does everyone think?

Re:sick of gangs Reply to this message
Gangs have been around since the start of time. Not that I agree with gangs but they tried in the 1980's with a law that more than three poeple couldn't stand together for a common cause, on the road it was called unlawful assembly but poeple still do it it's called a queue while waitng for an event like the movies, concerts, etc; as for emblems who get arrested every one wears emblems, from the scouts, fisrt aids officers at games try looking at whats causeing the problems not at the gangs. The ambulance at the bottom of a cliff seems to be everyones one concerns ..... look up an see what happening and try to help stopping the problems not just react when gangs come to the fore front and moan it;s not my problem
