| I cannot for the life of me understand why thyroid suffers can't legally go back to the stuff they had in the 60's, Natural Thyroid from the jolly old New Zealand pig. The stuff comes from NZ appears to get sent here there and everywhere across the globe, but very few doctors in NZ either don't know about it or won't perscribe it .. Why?? and guys I don't want a political arguement about this there's got to be some scientific explanation for all this for goodnesssake!!! |

We can - but it costs! Pharmac won't fund it. But we're working on it. It is made by Pharmaceutical Compounding in Auckland. They also have distribution rights for Naturethroid (made in the US) I've been taking NT since June. Drs are not taught about Whole Thyroid & if they know anything it is mostly misinformation. We've had people being told it is a high risk for CJD (mad cow) that its unstable, unregulated, unhealthy etc etc. All complete rubbish!
Those that have been prescibed it, often find their drs know nothing about HOW to dose. They start patients too high, or don't do slow increases, they don't know about basal body temps, they don't check for adrenal insufficiency or Vitamin D, B12 or ferritin deficiencies. We are finding we have to educate our drs.
Its just not good enough!!! |
