Cullen will be remembered not for his bionic powers, but for his bubonic plague
like financial loses. Only earlier this year he forecasted a 2 billion surplus, which has now turned into a 6 billion dollar deficit, i.e. 8 billion smackers down the tube. Any company financial manager loosing that amount of money, would be looking for another job. let's hope that after 8 Nov. he will too. But then he will be in receipt of his parliamentary pension, which will be much better than my Government super even with the tax cut. |

| i'm not disputing that deerhunter. I'm wondering how for 9 years we can have a surplus then in the space of 6 months, even less, Cullen/Labour can lose 8 BILLION dollars. |

| never did like that worm cullen, even though Im not a Nat supporter I think Key might be what the country needs, mind you, theyre all as bad as each other. Did have to laugh though how Cullen talked himself up at how wonderful a job he had done being Finance minister just after he told us we had no money left, what a shmuck! |

| I'm hoping he wont be remembered. How can you remember someone whose post budget lines over the past 10yrs have been "oh,we took in more than we thought"; "oh, we've taken in less than we thought"; oh, this has cost more than we thought". Face the fact' he just cannot think, and the sooner we get rid of him and the thousands upon thousands of 'advisors' the Clark govt. have on the payroll the better. |

| 6 billion is not that bad if you look at the financial world right now. How much have the big banks and financial groups in USA and Europe lost in the last few weeks. a *** load more than 6 billion. |

I like your reasoning hope....if we always compare ourselves to the world or even other countries we could see ourselves as being lucky that:
We don't have famines like North Africa
we have a lower crime rate than mexico City
We don't live in Uganda
We have less AIDS here in this country
...is this your logic?...if so...you should have been a politician, but then, your party is on the outer now so there would be no guarantee of a job |

| don't be blind people yes there is a deficit but so has the WHOLE WORLD .... just look any where around and open your eyes every one every where is in the cr-- house ... yes Cullen could have said a better message to us saying that we are going to be in the cr-- for some time and to save as much as we can .. National party will only look after the rich as it has always done so we will be hurting more when they take over GOD HELP US ALL when they cut pensions and benefits ... what a crime wave there will be and even more of us hurt or killed |

hope; you didn't read/hear it right. Borrowing is expected to be $6billion each and very year for the next 5yrs. That's $30billion. I think the point of the matter is the speal we had to put up with from Cullen when he told us the $6-7billion surpluses he got over each year for 5-6yrs was going to be 'banked' and used to help us through the tight times. Well ????????? And remember that these results were compiled BEFORE the world went into the current finiancial meltdown so don't blame it for Helengrads insane spend-up.
Wonder where Cullens master financier dhume is right now. Come back and tell us all about the books ............. |

World markets my ass, he`s been throwing our money away ever since their ratings started falling in polls.
Take a look at every single SOE and govt. department. Over loaded with overpaid, non achieving drones, some earning in excess of $400,000 plus perks annually, planted there for political purposes by these fraudsters,in an attempt to stay in power.
Look at the state of the police, because of it.
It failed, now theyve spat the dummy and deliberately put the country in the sh it.
Criminals,they should do time. |

First people used the 2 billion spare as a way to attack the Governmant.
Funny now the 6 billion deficit gets the same result.
What do people really want.
And can a politition actually give it to you.
No ,Polititions are not a gods ,so stop putting faith in them.
Does anyone know where the money has gone on ,was it dinner parties ? |

Not cutting i.e increasing goverement spedning = decreased productivity, decreased GDP, more costly products, losing further to oECD, more poverty and mediocre BUT it equals more confused, manipulated, poor voters for Labour .
Is that what we want ? |
